Do japanese weabos, otakus, act like in the animes? You know, over reacting over stuff, screaming when seeing kawaii stuff, jumping while surprised, that kind of stuff.

Maybe some of you might be thinking this is bait, but in my country (southamericafag here) otakus try to act like japanese cartoons and doins stuff like that. It's painful to watch. So I got curious if they act like that or not, and if japanese people see that as normal or is like the rest of the world and see them as weird.

It is not normal behaviour in Japan. Being otaku is not socially acceptable.

But in japan you have to be a hardcore otaku to be called an otaku, right? I really don't know a lot about japan beside /a/, so maybe I have it all wrong. Pic very related.

Not anymore, it's like "nerd" in the west, but people still don't look favourably upon the real deal.

Some people began co-opting it for self-image. Also thank the wonders of capitalism for watering down stuff to make it more accessible and acceptable to ordinary folk.

I'm curious of the reverse. Are there Japanese who are into Latino culture and try really hard to be a beaner?
