Do some Japanese hot springs really allow monkeys in?
Don't they bother the paying visitors?
Is it true that the monkeys shit and piss in the water?

Oh man a few months ago I was on a trip to California and the sign on the gate of the pool stated that if you had diarrhea in the past two weeks then you weren't allowed in the pool or hot tub. I thought it was hilarious because something had to have prompted that sign sometime in the past. Someone had to have shit in the pool or hot tub for them to put that sign up.

This was probably a measure against tape worm infections.

Imagine... sitting in a hot spring with tape worms floating around, and they'll look for a way into your asshole....

I worked at a hotel for years, we had numerous events where people would puke, shit, or piss in the pool and every time it happened we would have to close the pool for 2 days to drain it, clean it, and refill it.

It is a constant problem for hotels

What do you mean IN? That's the monkey's homes. They're letting the humans in.

You know, not every hot spring is owned by someone.

Yes, but the the more crowded the onsen is the less likely there will be monkeys there.

Isn't this a topic for /int/? I don't think hotsprings alone are really otaku culture. Not only that but are we allowed to post anime pictures again?

Everything Japan-related is /jp/ until people complain about it.
