I've tried to teach myself japanese 4 different times. I ended up quitting every time and going back later. If I kept up my studies I would already have 6 years of experience, instead I'm still trying to learn all the Hiragana.

Honestly, after almost 5 years of using it (1.5 spent in Japan) and having close to no casual social interaction in English, I feel more comfortable in Japanese than my native language now. I don't know how to express myself well in English. It just feels robotic when I try.
