Yes it is. Ships can move and regularly take the offensive. Castles are not usually offensive, and definitely do not move <- this is the important part.

Castles just don't seem to have the same amount of geek appeal as warships. Battleships are cool. Battleships have huge guns and do explosions and shit. Battleships can launch rockets and torpedoes. Battleships can make ice cream and ramune. What do Japanese castles have? Paper wall? So fun.

Personally, I find castles much more appealing than warships. I'm not going to claim that my niche is bigger than your niche, but consider the possibility that both are commercially viable and it makes sense to cover both.
