Sadly, yes, and that's what killed all the hype for me. Instead of finishing the existing parts they kept redoing them and never acomplish anything. It's a pity, could be a really good game if they just finished the plot.

Apparently, solving her death is one of the quests, so her demise cannot be avoided if you play the game. I simply cannot stand when cute girls die in a game and there's nothing you can do about it, even though I'm more or less okay with dying men and gargoyles.

I treasure my biological impulses. After all, the reason I live is also nothing but a biological habit. Besides, this was a joke, more or less. I can't stand when characters with any signs of personality are killed, and being cute is often enough to imply that the character has enough personality to design and maintain their cute appearance.

Japan has one of the lowest crime rates in the world. The middle east/India/America has much more violence, despite censoring or outright banning these things.

It's far easier to judge than understand (not the love and tolerate bullshit, but knowing the why and what goes on under the hood), but know that it's not going to get you anywhere.

I lost you here, looks almost as if you picked arbitrary words to finish this sentence.

A number of the US states have more lenient laws towards obscenity and drawn lolicon than Japan.

Until concrete studies are done on this subject, it's impossible to say for sure.

>I lost you here, looks almost as if you picked arbitrary words to finish this sentence.
I'm saying we shouldn't be starting a witchhunt/censorship spree and actually understand these psychological impulses and the effect of said media on consumers.

>A number of the US states have more lenient laws towards obscenity and drawn lolicon than Japan.
You made no mention of India/Middle East/Asia so I'll take it as you agree with me to this point. As for the US state laws being more liberal than Japan's, I'm going to need a citation on that. Also are said states filled with violent crime?

>> No.11809945

>>11809814

> Until concrete studies are done on this subject, it's impossible to say for sure.
Correct. You cannot say whether graphical violence reduces OR increases crime. I've recently read a Dutch study conducted for the government that concluded taht lolicon and graphical violence does not affect crime in any significant way, which goes in accordance to my views that most people enjoying this stuff are shut-ins unable to commit a real-life crime anyway, no matter whether they have access to their guro or not.

> I'm saying we shouldn't be starting a witchhunt/censorship spree and actually understand these psychological impulses and the effect of said media on consumers.
Calling all Japanese disgusting is an overstatement on his part, sure. However, if people like me that find graphical depicions of violence and people who make them disgusting, despite admitting it should be allowed as a form of free speech, make you angry, you've got a problem with tolerance, buddy.

> You made no mention of India/Middle East/Asia so I'll take it as you agree with me to this point.
No, I disagree, and you'll need to provide a comprehensive study to back your claim that this is the case of causation rather than correlation. I think there are thousands of much stronger factors to crime than allowing or disallowing guro and lolicon. As stated previously, I don't think it's going to make any significant difference. Compare crime levels in California, where drawn lolicon is legal (http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/displaycode?section=pen&group=00001-01000&file=311-312.7)), Oregon, where all obscenity laws have been ruled out unconstitutional, and Canada, where obscenity laws are one of the strictest in the world among democratic countries.
I might just as well compare some shithole in central Africa where no obscenity laws exist whatsover because most people are too busy killing and raping each other with Iran which has a moderately low crime level, and claim this is the proof that all manifestations of obscenity should be strictly punished.

> As for the US state laws being more liberal than Japan's, I'm going to need a citation on that.
Well, if you are talking about real-life CP, then, no, I don't think it is not more liberal than Japan (and for a reason, IMO). Speaking of artistic depictions of violence, look up local obscenity laws. (for Oregon, see State v. Henry)

>despite admitting it should be allowed as a form of free speech
He never said anything like that.

>you've got a problem with tolerance, buddy
The issue is, said people are always the one who rally around censorship and use violent video games, porn and what have you, as a scapegoat for the criminal. Also, I don't think we should stigmatise anything without at least properly understanding it first. That said, I was wasn't angry, just trying to see where than anon was coming from. Their views are just as important in how a society functions as the 'deviants'.

>provide a comprehensive study to back your claim that this is the case of causation rather than correlation
I never said that the lack of access to porn/violent material was what caused the violent assaults. I said the banning didn't help to lower the rates in certain countries to first-world standards. I do concur that the issue is more complicated and multifaceted.

>if you are talking about real-life CP
I wasn't, and to my knowledge, Japan doesn't really allow that as well.

>artistic depictions of violence
Not to be haughty, but America has always seen sexual deviancy as more severe and distasteful than violence and the censorship I was talking about is more of the 2D lolicon stuff. It is technically legal, but not everyone can afford fighting legal battles (I do believe people just pleaded guilty to avoid having to pay exorbitant fees and be put on the sex offender lists, although I may be wrong) up to the supreme court, where they'll finally overrule it, as they've done before.

Ok, I misunderstood you. I thought your post was directed towards everyone hating graphical violence (including myself).
> The issue is, said people are always the one who rally around censorship and use violent video games, porn and what have you, as a scapegoat for the criminal.
Do not generalize. I don't, and I find any kind of prosecution for victimless crimes unacceptable, even though I, on a personal level, hate in-game violence against cute girls. Same way I can point at Tsutomu Miyazaki and say that people who are OK with lolicon and guro are all the same violent beasts (which isn't the case, either).
> I wasn't, and to my knowledge, Japan doesn't really allow that as well.
I'm pretty sure Japan restricts erotic/violent graphical depictions of young children, either, at least in printed works (yeah, Comiket, I know), but I can't find confirmation of that in the English Internet. Perhaps I'll give a reliable link later if I have time to digest the moon articles which I can't read quickly.
