I recognize that this is largely Japanese cultural discussion, so I apologize for being OT. I'm watching the Dragon Dynasty release of the classic Come Drink with Me in Mandarin for the first time. The bad guys keep referring to the heroine with masculine terms, like "young sir" and "that guy." Later, they switch to calling her feminine words. Can anybody explain this to me? I'm very curious.

Listen, I'm the biggest weeb here by far. I have been drawing specifically to Japan, but am somewhat of multicultural studier in terms of Asia. I know about other countries' histories are these days largely through what they're past relations were with in Japan and the so called aryan myths of their lands, thus I look further into their own origins and histories.

You certainly have a niche interest going on here that I am sure /tv/ nor /int/ will help you with. I'd help you with your studies, but not through /jp/. /jp/ simply isn't the place for China or other Aisan cultures besides Korean idols and Asian international relations with Japan.

You are the niche among niche who will never fit in here. /jp/ is elitist. We don't plan on changing.
