I'm playing Melty Blood ReACT for the translated Arcade Mode. So far I've managed to win with Akiha and Kohaku, who are my favorite characters.

Playing with Akiha was a cinch. On my second attempt I managed to go all the way without using a continue.

Kohaku was a little tricky, since she had to fight unlimited magic Neko-Arc. Still, after a little practice with her Magical Amber Missile and her flora, I was able to get her ending.

I figure next I'd try to win with V.Akiha. I kicked plenty of ass with normal Akiha, so I thought this would be easy. I was wrong.

When ever I play as V.Akiha I get my ass handed to me real quick. If I'm lucky, I might get up to Sacchin before needing to use a continue. V.Akiha just doesn't seem to be as responsive as Akiha Classic.

Would any of /jp/s Melty Blood players lend me some advice for using her?

Thanks in advance.

Set difficulty to 1 and damage to 5.

>> No.117549

Jump around a lot. She's good at that.

This.

Don't get hit, and block a lot. That is the best way to survive.

Akiha = Tsurupettank
V.Akiha = Glass

Play better.

Seriously, though, you can't play her like you'd play ordinary Akiha. You could try abusing her down + B, B, B, I guess. I think the computer falls for that a lot.

That's how I try to play, but Sacchin is often fast enough to outpace my guard button.

What does Vermilion change about Akiha that seems to make her so much weaker?

Maybe I'll try again while taking what's been said to mind.

Haha oh man, I just played through Arcade with V. Akiha to check it out. Have fun trying to beat Nanaya if you struggle against Sacchin.

I was serious about jumping a lot - V. Akiha is the most mobile character in the game. I'm terrible at guarding so I don't stand still much and it seems to work pretty well. Abuse Back + C combos.

V. Akiha is a lot faster and a lot weaker, and lot more powerful.

"V. Akiha essentially reduces the game play to that of a 3d fighter. IE: The fight is over, one way or the other in one or two combos."

>> No.118103

If you want a cheap way to beat sacchin, just jump and hard kick. The com with just walk to you and get hit most of time. Keep doing it and every so often throw in a combo.

Not OP
Don't know what's so hard about Sacchin, I played through just now and on my third attempt at her I managed to get a 2-1, then won all the remaining fights without much of a problem. Though this is the first time I've tried doing arcade with V. Akiha, I figured she was about the same as Akiha.

I'm a bit of a newbie so excuse my ignorance, but what are some smart combo's to use with her?

I looked MB and it's derivatives on gamefaqs, but there was surprisingly little information. Nothing much more than what was already in the included manual.

4C 2BBB 236a/b/c
4C 2B 2C 5C(I think)

4C and 2C are pretty much her best openers. Do whatever bullshit you want from there and the computer shouldn't be a problem.

Setting difficulty to 1 made things easier (obviously).
Setting damage to 5, not so much.

Thank god you can't KO with chip damage in this game.
