Irie is a doctor, and high grade heroin is made from morphine, which could easily get. (In case you want to know, the shitty black tar junk that collapses your veins is made from opium... poorly). I also bet that Mion could get her hands on some pretty easily.

Ahhh... Injecting insulin into a girl's thigh! That sounds like the cutest thing ever. Because she trusts you enough to let you stick a needle into her, and you are also providing her with a substance that keeps her from dying. The fact that it's her thigh might make her a bit embarrassed, which is cute as well. And then she thanks you when you are done! And is satisfied enough to let you do it again in the future. Ararararara...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd presume diabetes is covered under most European nations' healthcare as well.

There's two types. One's genetic and you just get the shit end of the stick no matter how healthy you are, and then the other where it's your own damn fault.

But you know, regarding HFCS, about 80-90% of the things in a supermarket are made with, fed or grown with corn in some form. it's almost impossible to go without consuming any, unless you're a homesteader. It's not just America, either.
But please, by all means, continue your shit stirring anti-American campaign to pin every modern health issue on "merica".

My school biology textbook had a picture of a little girl having an insulin shot to her thigh. I remember looking at it and thinking it was hot.

I thought the pronunciation of diabetes as "diabeetus" was exclusively a mispronunciation that guy said.
But I recently talked to some of my older relatives (ages 50-80) about my aunt, who has diabetes, and they unilaterally referred to diabetes like that. They have lived in Alabama most of their lives but they're not hillbillies. My grandfather was a professor of nuclear physics but he always referred to blacks as 'coloreds' too. He wasn't racist it was just what he had learned was appropriate.
