Depends on what you are going up against. Dive bombers are unnecessary against weak ships you can oneshot anyways (cough, 3-2-A or 4-1 farming) but are GREAT against BBs, torpedo bombers are worthless against CV/BBs but great against weak ships, fighters are air superiority.

Ise/Hyuuga are unfortunately absolutely better than Fusou/Yamashiro - much better luck, 10 more evade, a little more hp, and an earlier remodel (10 instead of 20). There's really no reason to use Fusou/Yamashiro over them if you want a BBV.

That said, I love how Fusou looks so I use her anyways. If you want to be efficient, though, Ise/Hyuuga are better.

Torpedoes are kinda shit in general. They're useless in pre-boss nodes because you only care about preventing damage, and torpedoes fire simultaneously. For the boss node, they're ok, but guns are still better because they might help prevent damage (by killing shit). Finally, double attack is better than torpedoes in night battle.

Optimal equipment for Maya would be some variation of main gun, sub gun, sub gun, radar, or main gun, sub gun, sub gun, sanshiki, or sub gun, sub gun, sub gun, radar, etc.

Ok For the first few sortie.
Drop the CLT and bring 2CV instead as you will probably not see night battle.
Drop your sonar since there will not be any sub at the boss node so you can go line ahead on every node besides the sub node. I am not sure how comparable sanshiki is vs green gun but I always go with sanshiki. Maybe someone need to do more research on this.
Torpedo is shit on anything that isnt sub, dd or clt.
