Do you think /jp/ was less ironic back in 2009 than it is today?

*shrugs*

I wasn't on /jp/ in 2009. I wasn't even on 4chan.

>> No.11707289

Yes. /jp/s form of irony is very polished and distinct. It takes time to develop something like that.

>> No.11707312

Nope. In 2009 it was the best time for irony.

I don't remember how /jp/ was in 2009 so I'll just say it was better than it is now because that's what an oldfag like me would say. It was still pretty ironic.

I don't like all these idol threads popping up everywhere. Shouldn't they go to /mu/? Although I like that we get to discuss JAV actress and cosplayers now, that's otaku culture.

They stick to their threads and don't bother anyone else.
I think they're ok. You can just hide the threads and it's like they aren't even here.

Everyone is /b/ type of ironic and /a/ culture is still predominant.

>> No.11707351

over all it wuz more ironic per capita but the extent of irony in some single contemporary jp posts is greater than most posts then

2009 /jp/ wouldn't allow shit like fumo threads and would contain anything related to idols to a single thread each time.

People talk about "the good old days" and when so and so board was "good," but I can barely remember what 4chan was like years ago. Most of it is like an insignificant blur to me.
