People compete about the stupidest things. It's like when people can't cook and they're super proud of it. "I can't even boil water!", "Yeah? Well I BURN water!", "I don't even know what water is!"

The work is fine. I can't speak for other courses, but I imagine if you spent just a couple of hours a day actually studying then none of this would be a problem. "My teacher gave me an assignment and it's due in tomorrow! I hate my life!" Well if you'd actually done the work when he assigned it two weeks ago, this wouldn't be a problem. Hell, if you'd spent that one night working instead of partying, you'd be done by now.

I dropped out because of the social pressure, not because of the work. Though maybe avoiding social situations was why I never had trouble with the work. I had so much time to kill I actually took up learning stuff from other courses.

I have way too many beer bottles. I don't want to concern my parents that I'm becoming an alcoholic, so I tend to hide them around my room. I can throw a few in the recycling but it's always full, I can get rid of one or two here and there with general waste, but I'm gaining beer bottles faster than I'm losing them.
A few days ago I filled a big bag with most of them and walked around the streets, putting 2-4 bottles in every outdoors bin thing I could find. I thought I'd gotten rid of most of them but now there's more than ever. They're behind my monitor, under my bed, behind my bookshelf, on top of my wardrobe, next to my desk, behind my computer. They are everywhere and I want them all gone but I don't know how to get rid of so many things.

How big is your town/city?

A lot of towns have recycling collection centers where citizens can come and drop off stuff. The one in my town has 5-6 of those huge metal shipping containers, and you just show up and throw your stuff in the respective container (actually, there are usually workers there who will do it for you). They even have bins that they open after hours so you could drop off stuff in the middle of the night if you wanted.

You could also go to your local landfill (if there's one near your town), but they often charge you money to dump stuff, and I'm not sure if they'll just let someone walk in off the street.

An easier solution would be to brazenly try and throw them all out at once. If your parents ask, just tell them you have been saving the bottles for months, but finally got sick of them.

I tried Mechanical Turk years ago when it first started, and it took tons of mind-numbing work just to earn $1 an hour. Things have gotten better, since you can do audio transcription or write articles for better pay. However, even with that you're lucky to get $1-2 an hour. If you're really good at transcription or writing articles, maybe you can earn $3-4 an hour.

And those estimates are optimistic ones.

Not that guy, but before I quit my training to become an online chat rep for ATT, my company said they were able to deposit money into a Paypal account. You don't need a bank account to have a Paypal account, right? I thought you just needed a bank account attached if you want the account to be verified. At least that's how it was when I made my account a long time ago.

Also, while the job was simple in theory (assist customers with ATT products via the chat box on the website), it was pretty difficult. They want you juggling three chats at once with no longer than a 15 second delay between responses, on top of having an encyclopedic knowledge of every single thing on the ATT website, like phones, plans, ect. On top of that you're expected to make one sale every two hours or else you do not get paid. If the customer gives you a bad survey score, you will be dropped to minimum wage until your customer satisfaction rating goes up.

The pros of the job were very flexible hours (not sure of opening hours, but closed at midnight Florida time), absolutely no actual meeting face to face (a couple of phone calls, rest was done entirely online, mic may be required for training), and being able to work from home but that's about it. The cons were the high chance that you may not get paid, the high chance that some customer may rate you poorly and cut your pay, working through (or at least training) through remote desktop which was incredibly laggy, and the amount of stuff they give you to study before you begin.

Not him, but when I used I just stole shit. This was back when the economy hadn't yet gone down the crapper, so I just trolled construction sites for scrap metal. Every now and then I'd find CD players and other big ticket things that I could sell online. Scrap alone got me enough for a bottle of Mad Dog, but I'd usually be able to haul in enough good stuff to upgrade to vodka. street NEET life!

Nowadays I get rich engineering students and b.comms to pay me to correct the spelling and grammatical mistakes in their papers. If the work wasn't seasonal and based in demand I would be able to make a living off of it. I should learn Japanese and Mandarin so I can do it for all of the international students here.

There's always a market for wierd indie games.

Even if only 100 people are interested in your game, if you can convince them to pay for it, you're going to make a sale.

And if you're making a game in a niche topic anyways, you're probably doing it for the love (which should be the main reason in the first place) so the money should be icing on the cake.

The one time I applied for a job I just made up stuff to fill a three year gap. The important part is that you know what a certain job entails.
For example, I said I've been working at an opinion research center because that's something my sister used to do. From her stories, I could talk about experience in an interview as if I did it myself. In the end they wanted me for the job, naturally I declined because I was suddenly scared shitless of change.
That was a year or so ago now. Sometimes I wonder what would have been if I had taken that. Was a decent offer too, 20k starting with only a three day work week.

Far more than 1000 people bought Dragon's Crown. The genre would be the same, the mechanics would be just as good if not better. However the art and music would be plainly inferior, there wouldn't be anything fancy like online co-op, or voice acting. I wouldn't actually have any way to advertise it. I'd honestly be surprised if I got 100 people that wanted to buy it. There's no hope for improving the art since artists won't breathe unless you pay them not to smother themselves. I doubt I'd be able to find anyone that could make suitable music even if I had the money to pay them. It just doesn't seem likely to me that I'd get paid at all. Maybe I've got a bad sense for this sort of thing? I mean I've seen some really worthless shit on kickstarter raise thousands more than I'd need to live long enough to make the game. Even if I were to do something like that, lets say I completed the first stage and released it as a demo, how would I word my request? Would people really be alright with me saying "you're paying my living expenses so that I'll have long enough to complete this game."?

>> No.11699085

Pretty much. I mean, that's what paying money is, especially on crowdfunding websites. It's "Pay me money to live on the way I do now so instead of going out to find a job, I make this neat product that you're interested. Everyone wins! Pay me more, and I'll have more money to live on even longer and add even more features."

Your best bet is to track down something similar to what you have in mind, maybe in another fandom or something, and see how that made sales, what they said on their kickstarter or whatever, etc.

If you are ever stuck, look up something similar, and get ideas from there.

Well Im a NEET because I was raised to not care about anything. Honestly my response to everything is "I dont care". I cant really change it, and I cant really find any meaning in anything. I probably have something seriously wrong with me.

Have any NEETs who worked previously experienced anything weird? I worked for a year and a half and did lots of really self damaging things to cope with it. I quit and have never returned to the good person I was before being exposed to what life is like. Not like drugs or anything, just really risky behavior that could have ruined my life forever if I misstepped.

Maybe you are all alone. Maybe everybody else is a normie starting NEET threads and posting Anzu just for the comedic value. There is no place for you in this world, you have merely created a fantasy world in your head where there are others who you can relate to and aren't just posting ironically.

Hi. I am a student and tutor at a university. I have plans to teach in a few years.

I think a lot of college students don't realize the amount of work they are signing up for. Then they blame their teachers when they get overwhelmed. At my school, 2-4 hours of self study is expected for every hour in class - it's even in the syllabus handed out on the first day.

Silly normies.

I never experienced anything wierd because the few times I got a job I always chose very carefully to only apply to stuff that would involve little to no human interaction.

The last thing i did was fold blue-line prints with a special machine (because they're like A3, A2 and A1 - huge). That was really relaxing, just the whole day in a small room alone with the printer and the folding machine.

I feel the same way. I get jealous of everyone and pictures like that make me really unhappy that I cant become that no matter what.

My ultimate fantasy is living in a small wooden cabin in the middle of the woods, but not really that far from a village. Of course I have amazing internet, and Homura lives there with me. We run an alchemy shop and sell potions that we make, and when bears and stuff come to our house she freezes time and protects me.

Im the guy who posted those. To fellow NEETs, honestly living in pure despair works. When i did have my job, I was so steeped in despair that going was a way to darken the despair, and make me feel it even worse. I came to really love the feeling and develop a strong affinity for true sadness.

I felt that nobody could grasp why I felt so sad, so making it worse felt good. Characters like Homura were so fun to read about or watch, becuase of how bad their lives were. Along with my Homura 'Cabin fantasy' a common one was just sitting with Homura at a table and crying with her, because neither of us would ever have a partner to love.

Hers was dead and intangible, as was mine - her. So we had a mutual understanding and the sadness of the fantasy, along with the sadness of enjoying such a fantasy really warmed my soul.

That sounds like a nice fantasy, too bad alchemy isn't real and Homura doesn't exist.

My ultimate pseudorealistic fantasy would be running a small shop that sells mainly obscure books and things but also other stuff but that sort of very-niche thing is inherently unsustainable anyway even if I had the money knowledge and motivation to start it up.

Additionally, you should have a grasp of language at a senior undergrad level. Being able to form a rational argument is a great asset.

Owning or otherwise having access to complete style guide manuals (Chicago 16th, MLA, APA, etc.) will also be basically required, since you're going to need to check and correct their in-text citations, footnotes, and works cited pages to see if they conform to the needed style that the professor demands. The free online guides will be useless as they only cover the most common citations, not the obscure 17th century monographs that show up once or twice in every paper. Most large university libraries have electronic or paper copies available.

because an un-intended consequence of many anti-discrimination laws was that many businesses (especially in more technical fields), no longer utilize apprenticeships, creating a captive market for universities (the irony is that in the end you need years of internship/entry level work to get anywhere anyways, you killed guilds and all you got was student loan debt).

They were also responsible for child labor laws which restricted able bodied and willing teenagers from working jobs and bringing the cost of labor down. So basically the whole higher education thing starting from high school on is artificial to keep kids from stealing older people's jobs.
Unfortunately, they did not foresee that importing immigrants would have the same effect. And even if they did, the powers at be would over rule a union's demands.
