I've got a nekokko mi-nyan and I turn it inside out to wash it. I usually use a bit of liquid hand soap while washing it with water. And then I dry it thoroughly inside and out using lint free cloths. Sometimes, but not always, I rub some talcum powder into the outside. Then I rap it in a dry lint-free cloth and store it in my desk drawer.

I've had it for 8 months and this has worked well. But recently it's started smelling kind of strange, and not particularly nice. I'm not sure if it's just because it's getting old or if there's some other reason.
