Mister Nice has a job at the factory. He doesn't enjoy his job a whole lot, but every day he continues to work with yukkuris in breeding and training. He doesn't like having to comfort yukkuris that have lost their children to packaging and shipping, but he works anyway to support himself.

Slowly, he gains many friends in the factory, and becomes a popular and hard-working person. Quite suddenly(to him, anyway) he found himself with an employee of the year award. The other workers showered him with praise, and he felt weighed down with guilt even more.

Most importantly the quacks in the R&D department give him a special gift in a rare, unknown yukkuri species. It was completely silent and stoic to them, so after testing(it's contents are strangely normal bean paste, like that of a Reimu or Marisa) and breeding(it's children were not so stand-offish) they decide to give it away as "stress relief".

So Mister Nice carried it home in a ventilated box, unsure of what to do with it.

He sets the box on the table and stares at it. He really doesn't want to hurt it or abandon it, much less return it to the factory.

"Are you okay in there? Will you talk to me?"

No answer.

"I won't hurt you. I promise."

The box rattles slightly. A familiar voice comes from inside.

"Let Marisa out! It's dark!"

A Marisa? What's so bloody special about a Marisa? No less, he takes the lid off of the box and peers in.

What he sees is no yukkurisa.

>> No.1162997

That is perhaps a stretch. It's larger than a normal Marisa or Reimu, but not by much. It has red hair, red eyes, and a purple hat that is otherwise just like a Marisa's. Maybe it's a mutant yukkurisa?

It takes a leap out of the box, showing some physical strength and coordination, and lands on the table with a curious slam rather than a splat. No yukkurisa is this strong or that heavy.

"Where's Mima!" Mister Nice would have thought it was a slur of speech if it wasn't an adult. "Where's some food?! I'm hungry! Mima must be hungrier!"

It's confused, he thinks. Who knows what the quacks in R&D did to it. Even more, he almost sees it as annoying, something he rarely sees anything as(being mister nice and all).

>> No.1163018

I think that Gensokyo and the Factory may be what demarcates the three different yukkuri fictional realities. Obviously, it's all fan-nonsense, so there are really hundreds of unreal realities, but I think they can be categorized into three groups:

In the first reality, the yukkuris reside in their own realm of silliness. No ecosystem, no bean paste, no humans, gags and taking it easy only . . . you know the rest. This, is that realm:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiwUxKndmk4

In the second, they exist in gensokyo, but without a factory and with a minimal or irrelevant 'ecosystem'. I suspect this is the world that Makako seems to be credited with creating. Yukkuris are largely played for laughs and for d'awww. Yukkuris here can be injured in less cartoonish ways, but any suffering is usually temporary and d'awww inducing.

The third reality adds a complex ecosystem, the factory, an a host of sadistic anonymous misters. This reality is sometimes played for dark humor, but often is just pure GRIMDARK and DESPAIR. Written fiction seems to exist exclusively in this realm for reasons I have yet to decipher.

>> No.1163037

>>1163018
Writing is easiest in the third "realm" because there's the most material. Unlike the first, which is just descriptions and "Take it easy!", and the second that has speaking characters in touhous but is better for comics and one-shots.

With GRIMDARK, you get humans, touhous, and yukkuris as speaking characters. I don't like putting drama in my stories, let alone abuse(too nice for it) but grimdark is just easiest.

I think it's the difference between teasing and bullying. Teasing is something you'd do to a child or a pet. It's inherently playful and lacking in hostility.

Bullying is the territory of those who feel the need to demean and abuse others in order to make themselves feel better. It's the domain of those who can't take it easy as they are, so they take it out on those who can, hoping that doing so will enable them to take it a bit easier. "We're not happy until you're not happy", if you will. It's the realm of trolls and jerks. So, I suppose it's no surprise that it's often more common here.

I turn that statement on its head and send it right back at you. I could say that you're the one who needs to demean others to make himself feel better if you immediately assume that we're all sick sadists and you're above us. Some of us simply can't tolerate these personifications of selfishness, greed and ungratefulness, characteristics which all humans are disgusted by. That'd be stupid. Trying to seize the moral high ground on 4chan would be a worthless gesture. I don't think I'm above people who like yukkuri torture or other AWWWWRIGHT dojin nonsense. However, I am entitled to my curiosity as to why people like that stuff, and, as an anonymous poster on the internet, I'm able to be a presumptuous jerk about my theories, not because I think they're great, but because I suppose, I too, am ultimately trolling for a response.

On to the meat of this, though. Obviously if you create a fictional creature or person that that embodies evil, people will want to destroy it. However, no one writes stories about Touhous or anons or SPESS MAHREENS killing yukkuris with fire to purge them from Gensokyo.

The stories are, instead about weak, vulnerable, and helpless yukkuris being tortured and raped and traumatized. If a hero who sets out to defeat some embodiment of evil defeats it and leaves that creature broken and helpless . . . most heroes will spare the villain to show their goodness . . . a rougher, anti-hero may finish them off, but . . . if the hero then decided to torture the villain and eat the broken villain's children in front of it, then it's pretty obvious that the roles have reversed and the hero is now the embodiment of a greater evil.

Said villain is still a human, or at least sentient; if it's not, letting it live is mere pretentiousness. Yukkuris are the personifications I spoke of in >>1163074. They think nothing of eating, killing and/or raping their own children, never mind others. They do not have a concept of morality. Add to that the fact that they a) serve no other purpose than to be food and b) are a virus that destroys all natural resources and eventually itself. No, that's not true. They do. They just wait until starvation before resorting to cannibalism/infanticide. My view on a yukkuri's children is that it treats them like it's accesories; it loves having them, but does not actually love the children.

Think about it this way: We're not bullying the yukkuri just because we can. We're bullying them for their negative traits, and their bodies just take the brunt of it.

Some of their traits are "cute" like their rounded appearence, helplessness, innocence, i.e: traits of infants, which most humans will protect and nurture by instinct.

However, some of the yukkuri's traits are bad. They can be greedy, mean spirited, obnoxious. and stupid. Traits that we want to eliminate from our lives. So the whole bullying and killing of yukkuris is our backlash against traits we see in society day after day.

Lets say somebody does something very rude to you, and has no apologies. Maybe the most you would do is tell that person off, but deep inside, you want to kill that trait. You want to kill whatever it is that makes that guy rude. But since you can't kill something intangible like rudeness, you have to kill the guy who has it inside him. Get rid of the vessel, and you'll get rid of the trait.

When we bully yukkuri, we're bullying their weakness and their stupidity. Of course they're never going to learn so we keep doing it until it reaches a deadly level.

I think Yukkuris are just like children IRL.

They're cute, they have low intelligence(but high cunning) and they have a really nice side - but they also have a really selfish, bullying side that's really nasty.

I think the part of us that enjoys the horrible guro stories is the part that wants to see stupid, bullying kids get what they deserve. Hasn't everyone seen some big kids bullying littler kids, and wanted to beat the shit out of the big kids once? I mean we know that as adults we're not really allowed to open up the whoop-ass on kids, but haven't we wanted to kick some little kid bully at some point? Heck, I want to see bratty kids get punished, too. If I heard that a bratty kid was spanked and sent to their room in tears, I'd be all for it. If I heard that they were beaten and sexually abused, by rage would be boomeranged back onto the parents with magnified intensity.

If yukkuris are being jerks and they get what's coming to them, that's one thing, even if the violence is over-the-top for a comic effect or an exaggerated punch. However, the whole protracted torture thing always turns my redoubled ire back on the torturer.

This is, of course, entirely my fault for reading more than one of these stories, since it should have become obvious early on that the torturer always wins.

I should just skip over fiction in this universe of factories and bullies and learn to take it easy.

If Makako and Tennkoma are Tom and Jerry, then the quick gag guro is Itchy and Scratchy. It's dark humor and satire. I actually don't mind that kind of guro as much.

What I wouldn't want to see is a story about a cartoon mouse or cockroach or other undesirable creature where they humanize it enough to give it a voice and emotions, but then they subject it to the harshest realities of nature and play it totally straight and serious.

There are many ways to deal with them, actually. If you get on them and nail something in they can't do anything to you without hurting themselves. You can get them to ram themselves into a tree or a spike, that will do quite a bit of damage. Or lure them into a forest, their mobility will be severely limited. There are, of course, guns etc., and the superpowered humans of Gensokyo. They're not smart, either.

I was thinking I would say something like, "This is horrible grimdark torture. Why you do this?"

I assumed I'd just get, "Cry some more, moralfagort! We'll write torture fic about whatever we want!"

Instead, people actually tried to rationalize why, in this imaginary world they had created, that torture was somehow the right thing to do. I have no idea if any of them seriously believed in the things they were saying. I'm guessing we just turned into an ethics version of /v/ where both sides became trolls trolling trolls seeing who could screw with the other's mind the most.

Of course, this isn't the first time this has happened, and I fear it won't be the last. Everyone knows better. The idea of there being ethics on 4chan is as much an absurd fantasy as the idea of bouncing magical touhou-food-heads forming an ecosystem. You know, with so much unnatural deaths around, the subject of yukkuri lifespan and natural death don't seem to come up very much. Is that the cannon natural death/cleanup method?

Jesus, my cat has been mewling like a banshee for the past couple of days, apparently it's in heat. I'm not sure whether a yukkuri screaming "I wanna get refreshed easy!!" would be better or worse.

Anyone know if it's possible to spay/neuter a yukkuri?

In before the yakuza scraping their faces off.

Actually, in the more light-hearted dojins where they yukkuris are pets and not some orky encroaching force of destruction, it would be nice to see one of the Touhous stand up to become the Bob Barker of Gensokyo and never neglect to tell the viewers to remember to have their Yukkuris spayed and neutered.
