Anyone up for a Rosatrice vs. Shkanon flamewar? I'll get started. Anyone who believes Rosatrice is a loveless goat and the whole Rosa\Battler connection makes no sense. Also, KNM is more obsessed with everyone else being wrong than he is being right. I'll give you that it makes sense if you only read it once and wait a year, but most of his "evidence" can be dismissed once if you truly know the story.

Also, it's hard to take it theory when some of his best evidence is a scene from the atrocious anime where Jooji rubs Shannon's tit with his arm. I will never accept anything solely from the anime as evidence.

No, it doesn't. The closest is when Battler tries to grab her tits but stops, and George tells her to defend herself (nice job being a man). George would instantly pop a boner and lose control if he even brushed a tit (or chest, since age and gender don't seem to matter). In the anime you could practically hear grinding his arm was so tit against her tits. That was never in the VN, or even the manga if I recall correctly.

It was just fanservice. Too bad we had to get nine hours of bullshit because of it.

>> No.11627526

No I'm rereading Seacats, and in Episode 1 when the cousins and Shannon are heading back to the guesthouse after Beatrice's letter, Battler makes a joke on how he's jealous of George because Shannon's pressed up against his arm due to having to hold the umbrella for George (cause he's holding Maria and a creeper)

It's a very minor scene that's not given any real importance though.

Personally, I believe that she was colluding with Yasu for a time, because Ange got a safe deposit box full of cash like the rest of the accomplices families, and calmly carried out any murders that were needed of her. Perhaps she convinced Battler to come along in hopes of killing him too.

The lifes in this body are soooo saddddd. Especially Battler & Beatrice knew at the end of EP8 what would happen if they leave the island. But they still did, and it happened what they were afraid for.

Battler got pushed into the water, since then he has this phobia. The other body besides Battler with a new personality bought a hous of that gold ingot and found Battlers body with amnesia. They met at the end, even though it the right personalities didn't met, but in the last scene of the magic ending they Battler and Beatrice meet each other agian thanks to Ange. I don't have the screenshots i need to show you, but >>11630552 posted one of the pictures i would show you. She tells you she has a fatal illness but she never tells you what she has, okay.

But it is written in the VN, that she uses a memory device. Her "Horns" resembles the memory device. The horns had a crack at a time in text. And it was said her memory device was once broken, so she couldn't be "Ikuko" for a long time. Sadly i don't have the screenshots for that and it is too hard to find them now. I would look into the script tomorow though. Maybe i'll find the lines.

Well, that memory device is a good method for DID to maintain a personality as much as possible, and it was stated that she got problems and/or was weird if she lost her memory device for a while.

By the way, Ikuko has a cat. She calls her Bern, and it is the real form of Bernkastel. Bernkastel was Ikuko's Miko. A cat can't obviously be a real miko for ikuko but that is another thing and i don't want to go too deep into this point now.

I'll start to tell you what happened in the magic ending.

Battler and Beatrice wanted to leave the island on a boat with an gold ingot. Did you see how Battler wasn't afraid of the water? He usally was so scared in all other Boat moments because of his phobia.

Well he brought Beatrice with him even though she didn't really wanted to because Beatrice is a Witch of the island and she just can "exist" on the island. This was told a few times before in the story. Battler was very much aware of that, so was beatrice. But he still took her, and she let herself be taken by him.

So they were on the boat, talking, trying to forget about that "Beatrice can only exist on the island thing" even though Beatrice clearly knows that won't help. They had some romantic moments and a kiss.

>> No.11635667

>>11635443 [2/3]

He closed his eyes again so she can kiss him, but after he opened his eyes beatrice was gone. But that's where MAGIC begins in the storytelling. He jumped into the water because he Beatrice just could be in the water, where else of course? A very romantic magic scene appears.

But now the mystery part of this scene; Battler opens his eyes and there was the other person, it was not Beatrice anymore. It was another personality, probably a new one. How did battler fall into the water? I would say he got pushed into the water because the new personality was afraid and in panic, that can of course happen if you have DID.

So that's where Battler fell into the water and he almost died. Being swept away in the water he was found by ikuko (thats what ikuko told you). Battler has amnesia.

But what did the other personality after he/she pushed battler into the water? Well that person made that gold ingot into money, bought a house and started to write some novels from where she came. The reason is the person she found and ange. How could she make that gold ingot into money? Beatrice had the contacts, so this personality or maybe "Ikuko" knew about the contacts as it seems, this is nothing new for DID either. So it is possible.

Ikuko found Amnesia Battler, and maybe she knew already who he was. She wrote stories so he can read them and find out about beatrice. You could call it something like a Meta World.

As they were small, Shannon and Battler liked mystery novels very much, and they wanted to write and read and argument about these in the future. So her wish was fullfilled you could say.

I hope you can follow me, it's getting somehow complicated what i'm writing about and i guess my english sucks a little too much.

The last scene in Ange's orphanage. Ange wanted to invite Ikuko and Amnesia battler for a last time. She had a plan. As you know, Beatrice can only exist on the island on rokkenjima, Ikuko was never there.

Ange made the orphanage look frome the inside like on rokkenjime from the inside, so she probably knew what she was doing. And as Amnesia Battler was in this room, he recocnized everything, and he met Beatrice. Ikuko probably recocnized everything too, so she met again at the end of the story, in a damn broken complicated half-happy/bad ending.

Picture is related too.

The reason for Kanon and Shannon's greyish/colorless color is obious i think. They had a discussion about color, the ocean, being furniture, being not complete, being not a full person and so go on.

Read Lambda's diary.

Lambda is important as she is the one who creates the conditions needed for the setting of the gameboards.

She gives a wish to a person who later creates the setting inside the gameboard of both Higurashi and Umineko.
She knows the truth because she helped create the story itself.

It's why she's important as the actual player behind Beatrice and the referee between Beatrice and Bernkastel.
Much like Higurashi, Umineko is a game between Bernkastel and Lambda.

Ikuko has nothing to do with it. Featherine is just interested in the game for her own curiosity even though she helped create the world.

It's sad that no one cares about Lambda since she's an insanely important element to the creation of the games.

Without Lambda, there would not be Umineko or Higurashi.
Though we don't essentially know what or when Lambda gave her wish to whomever asked to become a witch.

Sorry, Gensokyo already has manipulators of fate and luck, so they can't exist there, just like witch hunters have to take the form of goats to appear on Rokkenjima. Even Marisa could only hold her form for long enough for Tsurupettan to play before reverting to her boring vessel, and that wasn't even on the island. Sadly, this is the case of most of the fantasy Uminekos.

I'd like a kakera where the mystery cast gets prey'd upon by youkai though. Rumia could lure Jooji in with her voluptuous body and eat his guts while he's still alive. Kumasawa was the only one playing along. Genji is a robot. Nanjo is evil and greedy.

Let's talk about Nanjo. It's pretty clear that there wasn't a fight over the gold where Kinzo and Bice hid till the end on that island, but Kinzo actively killing for the gold. Plus that whole "I'm so sad Kinzo, I want to die." "No, Beatrice, I shall kidnap you and keep you forever!" was so awkward it hurt. More likely is that he did outright kidnap her and Nanjo helped him do it, then he kept her on the island and did a bunch of kinky shit. Perhaps they took turns raping her while Genji fapped in the corner. Well, he probably didn't do anything like that, but it wasn't all roses and golden butterflies either. But really, Umineko is a story in which your asked to solve an emotional mystery, figuring out why people do things and what made them do it. Lying about their relationships ruins that.

Also if he did lie about character relationships in fantasy scenes, they truly have no point. As the fantasy scenes, while not literally true, are intended to reveal truths about the characters nevertheless.

That, and if anything goes by, episode 2 and 7 explain that Kanon is a rare sight. He is here only when Yasu feels that he is absolutely needed (because he's actually asked for), and that's probably one week every other month. It is easy to hide yourself when you interact with people three weeks per year.

About him, this persona was probably made on the spot by Yasu when talking with Jessica ('Hey I've a good cute little brother he's on the staff!'). So many teens create false friends when dealing with the exact same situation. Then Jessica wanted to meet him and things degenerated from here. Instead of admitting her 'friend' didn't exist, she did a very stupid thing to not be called a liar.

Teenagers lie all the time. Most of them would rather die than admit having lied. Back in the days, one of my friend created a big brother who didn't exist. He would have disguised himself rather than be discovered.

From my experience and knowledge of teen psychology, the whole Kanon personality is very, very plausible. Add to that that no grownup care about him, and the deception could have continued for years.

Ikokutrice is a very, very common theory with solid ground and clear arguments, though nothing is certain. Believing in it is a matter of personal choice by this point.

Now, the specifics of this Ikukotrice theory seem far fetched. There appear to be a clear incomprehension of what the Beatrice/Shannon/Kanon personalities entail. Arguing that Yasu had a multiple personality disorder is not something I would try to uphold in this day and age, when most people think that the correct reading of the mystery clearly points otherwise.

I'm not challenging the relationship as shown in which they loved each other. She definitely did love him before the massacre, but after he betrayed the Japs and killed her Italian friends, was she so in love with him then? He wasn't the meek loser she had fallen in love with, he was a cold killer who slaughtered (or caused to be slaughtered at the very least) everyone she knew. She doesn't want to keep living and instead of comforting her, he says he'll kidnap her while she pleads to be let go. This seems dissonant with the rest of flashback and I can't accept that it isn't heavily distorted.

I think that there is strong evidence for this in Kinzo's outburst while doing his sobbing-before-the-portrait routine in EP1?, where he instantly changes from "OH BEATORICHI!" to "YOU FUCKING WHORE I OWN EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU FROM YOUR HAIR TO YOUR TOES" then back to "OH BEATRICE I'M SO SORRY JUST LET ME SEE A SMILE". And he didn't handle rejection well with his daughter either. We see her politely rejecting him by saying that she couldn't return his feelings, but the euphemisms that describe his actions are anything polite. "He stole her chastity" pretty obviously means rape.

One scientist launched a Bern through one small hole. The dead meat that exited the hole was cat meat. But another scientist launched a Bern through two small holes, and the dead meat was undoubtedly witch meat. Thus it was without doubt scientifically proven that Bern is in a witch-cat superposed state.

This state was henceforth called the Bernkastel-Kues witch-cat duality.

I was around the whole time and I still don't understand it. After all, after all this time, people just keep spouting all kinds of nonsense because the story is vague enough to give them leeway.

Besides, when episode 8 came out hardly anyone on /jp/ had properly read it, with stuff like "lambda is a cake" being commonplace. By the time it was translated a year later, everything had died down.

Today, people have just had plenty of time to swallow whatever popular theories there are around where they frequent, but it's not like you can confirm any of those things as true.

Go ahead and post the truth of everything with every point perfectly supported with irrefutable evidence so there can be absolutely no doubt that you're right. Of course, irrefutable evidence barely exists in Umineko to begin with, so there's no way you can do that.

I'm not the one who thought up that metaphor, the author is. So yes, it is in fact comparable to that. It is absolutely solvable

We know everything important about what happened before the incident (Yasu and her complex issues, the broken Ushiromiya adults, Kinzo's sins, etc.) and we know the result (Everyone but Eva and Battler ended up dead that day, Eva wrote what happened in a diary but refused to tell Ange for her sake, later message bottles written by Yasu were discovered, and Tohya AKA Battler supplemented them with his own stories). It's pretty easy to figure out what the actual incident was from that.
