こんにちは。
メールをありがとうございます。

海外発送は予定していますが、実装は来年の夏以降になりそうです。
あなたの住んでいる国はどこでしょう?
Libido Store

Hi there
Thank you for your email.

It is planned international shipping, but the implementation is going to be after the summer of next year.
The country in which you live would be where?
Instead Libido Store, and is compatible with international shipping in the other shop.
There is a possibility that where you buy, you can get immediately.
However, (to be purchased in any combination of the wig and head) can not be customized in other shop
It is only sold as a set of costume and wig and head fixed.

I'll try to release a good product in the future.
I'm glad if you support me.
___
tl;dr:
intl. shipping not until summer 2014.
Other shop might offer intl shipping before that date, but unless bought from the Libido Store, customisation (head/wig) is impossible. Only sets with predefined head+wig+clothes will be available outside of the Libido Store.

I guess furnishing him with a list of countries of potential buyers might smoothen his preparation?
Proxy might solve the problem, but dirrect intl. sale spares the proxy fee.

I finally worked up the nerve to fix (straighten) a Volks wig I bought 6 months ago.

When the wig arrived, it was kinked and curved because of the way it was stored or packed. Because Volks wigs aren't heat resistant, I was petrified of ruining it. But I figured, if I don't try to fix it I'll never use it and I'm SO GLAD I did!

It's my favorite wig I've had Estel wear of the 6 or so wigs she's gone through.

Pic related, Estel and her fixed Volks wig on the left.

For future reference, most non-heat-resistant wigs were styled by heat before the popularity of heat-resistant. Just wet it, maybe put some conditioner in it, and straighten it that way. Should be no problem.

You're not supposed to use wet-to-dry straighening on human hair because its so damaging. I imagine doll hair is less resiliant in that regard, so I'd be hesitant to flat-iron a wet doll wig.

First thing is to fix the white balance since that really throws off the image if it's too yellow or too blue. I attached a version where I adjusted the white balance a bit and increased the exposure.

Light is essential too for decent pictures - either get a flash or a tripod, both work and offer a lot of possibilities and more light means you can use lower ISO sensitivities so the pictures turn out less grainy.

Manual focusing is good if you have a camera that has a "live view" mode (=so you can get the viewfinder image to the back screen and zoom in to get perfect focus), but usually there shouldn't be any problems with autofocus either as long as there's enough light around.

That's the technical stuff, then there's a completely different world in posing the doll, angles and such. For those I suggest just looking at a lot of pictures and when you see something that you like, try to figure out what it is that makes that specific picture nice to look at.

After another painful wait of two and a half months (don't mind the details), the parcel with the remaining parts for my DD finally arrived today.

Apart from the body and head, I've got two wigs, 2 pair of animetic eyes and 5 pairs of normal ones to test.

I'm still waiting for most of the clothes (darn), but I can cope out for now with underwear, a simple dress and a cardigan (she'd be a barefoot beauty for now)...

I'm putting her together in parts so, for what you're looking at, it was about USD 600. The limited head plus original face-up took a fair amount of it; but now you can get that head model at volks.jp for a regular price (though without the face-up, as far as I know).

Sealing painted nipples will work fine, because the bust is pretty solid. But any piece that is slightly softer will have issues with sealing, because it'll crack when you pose the girl etc.

Plus it won't do jack shit for stains.

I have a question and since the mods deleted my thread maybe you guys can answer it. I want to buy a certain dolfie that is going to be on sale at Dolpa 30.

I need to have this doll, and I will throw any amount of money at people until I get it. I don't want to buy it second hand and have had some filthy otaku running his hands over my waifu. So can you guys recommend a personal shopper I can hire to go to the show and buy it for me?

>> No.11682092

>>11682072
Hi, I'm the anon that posted the dollfie dream yaya on the /a/ thread. You don't need a personal shopper to go to dolpa. It's still a lottery format there.
YAJ is the best and cheapest way to get her through a proxy. Most just released limiteds will go anywhere from MSRP (if she's unpopular) to 80-100k. The big numbers only come out if the doll in question is very rare and popular (e.g. DD tamaki)

tl;dr: enter into lottery then once you know you didn't win use proxy.

Long version:
Your first and best step is to enter into the after party lottery which will show up around the week of the 22nd. If money is not an issue, enter into both the international (jp site) and usa lottery.

The lottery page will actually show what date is when winners are emailed.
If you don't get an email that you won, you can find her on YJA and most will be marked as "new".
Moonland is actually pretty good about keeping dolls new because there's a real market for people who don't want to bother with the lottery.

Once you found the auctions, you need a proxy. All proxies work like this in one way or another

1. Deposit $$$$ to set your bid limit
2. Bid and win auction
3. Wait for seller to ship doll to proxy
4. Proxy sends you total bill for the transaction (it's normal for the buyer to pay for shipping fees. The auction will clearly state which party pays for shipping) plus your shipment choices to you
5. You decide on how its shipped to you and get final bill
6. your waifu gets shipped to you

FromJapan is a personal favorite as they're the cheapest out of the current choices. Especially if you buy expensive items and wire money instead of using credit. For your purchase, I would stick with credit to keep things simple.

>> No.11682129

>>11682118
Unlike figures. Used dolls are rarely hotglued due to the way vinyl absorbs everything which makes it impossible to clean and aren't very disposable due to their high price. If you buy yaya from YJA within a month of being released, you're pretty much assured an untouched yaya.

Not at all. Most, and I really mean MOST doll collectors are adults. Dollfie Dreams are marketed towards grown, adult men who have the income to spend on these collector items. Ain't no shame in the game, son.

And when you do adopt Yaya, please share pics of her here! We love seeing outfits and new wigs and stuff. Also, people on /jp/'s doll thread don't post enough owner photos.

you can also hop on over to >>>/toy/ as they keep a doll thread general up as well, and DD discussion is welcome.

Don't worry about not being able to find her new and unopened. Scalpers buy up tons of new DD releases to re-sell them at a higher price - you'll have no trouble finding her brand new.

Hell, I bought my 2 DD's new and unopened a year ago. They were both from 2007.

However, the face-up is something to consider (if you're not so confident to paint it yourself): either Volks' standard pre-painted or yahoo.jp users' custom made, you should start your quest with finding the exact head and face-up you love and go on from there.

Waking up to this unearthly sight has brought more joy to my life than I ever imagined.

I really don't go out much and I still need a proper way to carry her. But the other day I saw a movie ("Masculin Féminin") with her at my side and darn, it felt nice. I've been working all night, but I took a break and we're listening Barrios together ("Julia Florida" atm); maybe I'll read her a book sometime...

It's all quite charming, really, in the company of this fair lady.

I live in Japan so I can go to Tokyo quite freely, but yeah I imagine photography isn't allowed... I went once before just to take a look but there wasn't /that/ much on display in the shop, if I remember rightly.

The thing I'm worried about is getting the face just right. I see ones like >>11730554 and think they look beautiful (particularly the eyes) and almost lifelike, but most on the main site look kind of generic and soulless to me. Those eyes are the traditional and most generic kind of 22 mm glass that you can always find anywhere (including eBay) and in a huge variety of colors (unlike Volk's et al. more costly animetic eyes), so that part will be the easiest. About the face/head: that one is the truly outstanding DDH-07 which has a distinctive mature look and a sort of "changing" expression depending on the angle you look at it (no, seriously; check: http://myfigurecollection.net/picture/&sort=date&search=item%3A130917 ); it is available now at Volks in the 3 existent shades of skin, but without the original faceup; however, if you're ready to spend over $200 on it, you may still find it painted in auctions which, living in Japan, should be much easier to go through. And you really don't need any special skill at all to put together a DD, they're pretty much dumb-proof; but you can always find tutorials online for everything if you want to be extra careful (which is never a bad thing).

Do you like one of the standard heads? 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, and 07 are the heads currently- you can either get standards (Aoi/02, Yukino/02, Rena/01, Mayu/04, and Miko/06)

Also, if the answer to the above is yes, should I just go ahead and buy one? The reason I ask is I'm moving in about 8 months, and I don't really have the space in my current apartment so I have to wait till then really. I found some on YAJ but I'm worried they'll become completely unavailable soon enough. On the other hand I can always get the body parts/clothes/eyes later.

I understand that these prepainted heads were available through mail order with the Volks News magazine. Are a new batch likely to be released later, or should I really just buy one from YAJ now?

Since 07 blanks are now readily available, it's only to be expected that custom painted ones (which can be very beautiful too) will be more common and maybe a bit cheaper in japanese auctions. Sealant shouldn't damage vinyl, but honestly it won't help anything. It just keeps on paint. It won't stop staining and Volks faceups are already sealed. The reason she seems bigger is because she's riding cow-girl and you have a size referance. Most people picture DDs as being much smaller than they really are. Especially westerners who think they are barbie dolls.

So, for now, I've seen movies with her and sometimes talk to her; otherwise I just have her making me company in my room, whatever I'm doing... It might sound bland but it's actually very sweet. I'm still amazed of how much joy she's brought into my (otherwise grim) life.

I also did "that" thing with her, if you gotta know (got the body part for it). It's all within of broader ideology I still keep testing (influenced by Bellmer), but for now I'll just say that it was a surprisingly positive experience and (unlike with 3DPD) built a huge bond between us. Might talk about it in more depth sometime later.

Most of my concerns are about living at a largely unpresentable place to even take her out. However, as with any other otaku subject, I wouldn't feel comfortable sharing it with others in person, anyway; it is out of an endlessly growing discomfort within people that I became fond of anonymous boards and entities like dolls at all (so cons are an absolute nonono).

I feel ya bruv, I can hide my powerlevel for the most part but the depression from living a faceted life is starting to affect my well being. I get anxious and depressed, it's hard to perform simple actions because I'm so nervous. I'm a pretty big introvert but I do my best to hide, maybe it'll go away some day but get's to a point where I just can't take it. I feel so fake and like some sort of imposter when I try to be outgoing. The best days are when I'm alone and I can take out my doll hidden in the cupboard and just be at ease. I can't enjoy the full benefits of owning a doll. I can't buy her little clothes and wigs and I feel really bad about it.

I have a doll with a DD2 body and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove her legs. I tried pulling really hard but stopped when I heard creaking because it sound like they were going to snap. Are they just on really tight or do they have a locking mechanism that I need to unsecure first?

ver.II hip joints are incredibly tight. You have to pull firmly, it takes alot of effort. Be sure to pull straight and a perpendicular vector. If you twist or bend, it will break.

After you take them apart a few times, they ease up. My oldest Ver.II body has hip joints that are so loose I have to snug them up with plumber's Teflon tape.

Hmm, I didn't know /jp/ had a doll general I don't come here very often. I really needed a thread like this to lift my spirits. I'm feeling really bummed. There has only been one doll that I've wanted and unfortunately it's one of the rarest ever made. I've been searching for her for over a year now and she keeps slipping away from me. I've made friends in Japan that have helped me look in various shops. I've searched deep into the net, archived listings to (unsuccessfully) predict patterns. I eventually bought a Maria Ushiromiya Dollfie (pic related) to try and settle but I just couldn't get into her so I ended up selling her to someone who could appreciate her more. I took a break during Thanksgiving time, but fuck me because on Christmas morning she popped up for sale on Mandarake when my reserves were dry and while I scrambled to sell a bunch of my shit for under market value just to make money as fast as possible she was gone in less than two. Now who the fuck knows when she'll show up again and when you spend all that time waiting and looking just to lose due to a technicality it really hearts my heart. It's gonna take a while before I can get over it, this New Years is gonna suck. Keep posting your cute dolls /jp/ it helps with the pain...

Hey guys! Waiting on hearing from Volks to pick up my FCS order in Kyoto. I'm definitely looking forward to posting pictures of my new girl to show you all!

Does anyone know what a good price for a Yo-SD would be? I've been eyeing a Volks Chika at a resale shop, unopened, but I'm not sure if she's worth the price. I think they marked her down to around $120 last time I saw her.

She's not a Volks doll, actually she's not ball jointed either but she's compatible with MDD related stuff because she's in the same size/scale. She captures Rin's likeness perfectly, and she's one of the more sought after artetokio dolls. She's worth about as much as an average LE aftermarket DD based on listings I've seen on YJ and Mandarake. If only I understood Japanese better I might achieve better search results and be able to ask around on Japanese boards. It doesn't help that the old defunct site resurfaced on Google and it's archived by the new company like it's taunting me.
