That's why. Once you get an anime, you need to churn out more and more anime just to keep people interested. Otherwise they decide you're owakon, which is a point of no return, no new fan will bother with something that's past its prime.

Only ZUN and Crypton wisely avoided that. It seems Kancolle makers want some quick bucks instead, but it doesn't bode well for the longevity of the franchise unless the anime is truly a runaway guaranteed-sequels kind of hit.
