Enjoying Lute Hende's excellent adventure gaiden 2 - just as fun as I remember of the whole series.

So, I just started Rebellions, the improved version of SG:Code Revise, it's being interesting so far.

Im the beginning there's three scenarios to choose, but only the first one is unlocked at first, do they have a different protagonist for each one and tell different stories or they're just sequels?

Each of them are different scenarios for the same setting. The rules stay the same and all but they alter bit what the people do at the start of the game which then leads completely different results. Protag stays the same but the scenarios do focus on different characters, like in the second scenario the protag barely appears for example.

Finished. Fran route was pretty good, Sakura was okay, Kei was utterly forgettable.
The game parts were a lot worse. I spent the last two routes just tackling into the enemies then punching them until they exploded. I actually died to Flint since I just didn't expect to have to dodge his slow moving death ball. The limit break that spews green balls everywhere frequently bugs out and murders bosses from full health.

Fran was my favorite heroine, but I found Kei's route to be the best.
It felt the most complete, and having it as my first route made the final fight deliciously intense.

Agree Fran had the best route although it dragged bit in the early parts but it picked up later on. Also when pic related happened and Fate Breaker started playing I got boner. Sakura route had pretty good group dynamics going on which I liked, also had the best Marel moment. Kei route i wouldn't say was bad it was just bit avarage and lacked defining moments like the other two routes had.

Are there any Japanese sprite-archives? Something like a booru with all the different expression of any given character.
I need those for my bachelor thesis and I figured since the Nips are such obsessive nerdz, there are probably dozens of them spending all day ripping CGs from games.

Just finished Taiga's 100 route and was going to do Ami's 90/100 route but the game crashed on me at a certain point.

That's okay, Taiga is best waifu anyways

So I finally finished Eustia. The ending was great, and the final scenes actually made me shed a tear. The “villains” for all the chapters had reasonable motives, even if they sometimes went too far with them(specially the one in Licia's chapter). The voice acting felt real, I liked the fact that the protagonist was also voiced and felt it added more emotion to the story. Even something I don't normally care much about, the H-scenes were hot, with the omake scenes making my dick hurt by the time i completed them. All the heroines were pretty good, specially Collette, Licia and Eustia, and their respective endings. Ranking them, I'd say Eustia>Collette>Licia>Lavia>Fione>Eris, but it's more of a “who is better list”, not who is bad. If I had to complain about something i'd probably be the lack of a Gau route/omake scene, but that's bordering on Yuuji fucking the basketball team on grisaia in the improbable scale. Overall it was really worth the read (so much that I'm sad about not having more), and going into my top 3 VNs.

This is kind of a long stretch but has anyone ever completed Kurayami for the PC98?

I swear I exhausted just about every path that leads you to a bad ending, but the game always crashes at a certain point (when Mari mentions the floor) and I have a feeling I was on the route to the "true" ending before it happens (by choosing every romantic/happy choice).

I don't know whether it's because I have a bad copy of the game, or if it's an emulator issue though (I've tried both Anex and T-98 Next) but I really want to finish this so I hope someone else has played this.

Alternatively, if someone has the Windows port of the game and can upload it, that would be great too (I'm probably not holding my breath on this one... but still)

Hmm, I tried to do what you suggested, but as it turns out the GDC option is already off by default. You can't turn it on because the game won't even run then and will just dump you to DOS. Did change the 44 Hz thing, still crashes on me.

The alternate reason I can see is that maybe the path I keep trying to get through might not be the "Happy Ending" path overall. In that case, could you tell me what the choices to make in order to get the happy ending?

LE is basically the most complete version of the game, and includes the additional 1998 routes from the FD. I think it also includes some new routes or endings for the 2001 segment of the game as well but I'm not certain.

Though, if you can easily get a hold of it, if you like Muv-Luv as well, the Fandisc is probably worth downloading just for the parody scenario of that it has.

Was a big fan of Chaos;Head, so I decided to jump into Love Chu Chu, my first moon-only VN.

It was tedious checking the dictionary over and over, but I wouldn't trade the glorious fanservice and fuhihis for anything else. Completed the Sena-best-girl-route in a week, squealing at her gap moe all the way.

It's a solid game with a story that is unusually engaging.

In most games, I usually don't get emotionally involved in the story, not at all; it's often just rubbish, and I'm not only talking about the usual comedy moege. Sometimes it feels the story is only there to provide a setting. Owaru Sekai is different in this regard.

It's a very ADD-friendly game. You're gonna want the answers so badly you can't quit.

At least it's easy to remember. I'm actually often lost how names are pronounced because typical kanji combination for names have such an ass long variaty of different pronounciations from which are many really common. I wish they'd put furigana above every name.

A name I really dislike is Natsuki. It wouldn't be that bad if the name was actually pronounced as "Natsuki", but Natski sounds like some weird Eastern European chocolate bar with lots of nuts (you don't have such chocolate bars in the West).

Thanks. As it turns out, I did a bunch of testing and it looks like it isn't an emulator issue but a rom issue. I was able to get through the game with my old copy of the game and your copy if I followed the walkthrough.

Trying to retrace my old path crashed in either version. Either there's a lot of bad dumps of this game floating around the internet, or the original game had that problem. Kind of annoying. Maybe I'll play the Windows version to see what happens in that path.

Anyway, now that I'm finally unstuck in this game, it's pretty interesting and a pretty good horror/thriller (the PC98 aesthetics really help in this regard). The happy ending is also pretty "dawww" but I'm more interested in working out what the supernatural elements of the plot is supposed to mean. Why is there some kind of supernatural force that makes the MC want to rape people in elevators or do the MCs in this game just have extremely poor self-control? Stupid elevator ghosts, get a new hobby.

Apparently beating the game once unlocks more possible girls to get stuck in the elevator with. I'm not sure how these are supposed to fit "in-continuity" with each other or if they're supposed to be separate though. I've played through them a little but I am starting to wonder if they actually all have a happy ending.

The first girl who's your junior... The 2nd girl whom I will call glasses version Mari... I got the ending where it's revealed that MC is actually a criminal and then he gets killed by the ghost eyes, who was apparently Mari's dead ex-boyfriend. The ghost eyes also appears in the original Mari's bad endings, so apparently from what I can take from this, the reason for dying in the original Mari's path if you decide to go the dark path is that the ghost sticks around and kills people who are assholes to women named Mari because he assumes he's still protecting the glasses Mari.

But then again I always thought it was the ghost who was using his supernatural power to influence the MC into raping (maybe it's the ghost of Rance) so I dunno what the heck.

Not sure if there's any more girls in the game. I guess I'll play some more when I have the time and see what if I can puzzle out this game.

Man, looks like I misinterpreted the game.

Once you clear Glasses Mari (also, I realized that every girl in the game is named Mari, just with different writing), a bunch more scenarios open up.

On the PC98 version, my file would corrupt itself after clearing her for some reason, so I had to switch to the Win version. Having to play it in 256 colour mode sucks, but wow the text-skip function and free save/load is a lifesaver.

As it turns out, there isn't really any connecting threads at all, every story is self-contained and they actually reuse CGs multiple times for different "scenarios"... I kind of prefer thinking of the original ones that show up as "Canon" but that's just me. Some of them are clearable with a happy ending and others... well, don't seem like it's possible.

Well, disappointing as it is to not have an Ever17 style epic blowout ending that ties everything up, I think it's still a surprisingly good game for its time. The concept reminds me of a couple of interactive fiction works, actually.

I guess I might go read all the other scenarios over time, but now I am wondering if there's any place where I can get the sequel (so says VNDB...)

Finished euphoria. Shame I was spoiled to the computer simulation and Kanae being an antagonist twists beforehand or else I could probably have enjoyed it more. I'd say it isn't really worth reading solely for the plot as there's a pretty damn big ratio of H scenes to story (most of it being niche fetish stuff), but if you're looking for a dark fap game or just something really fucked to spice up your day with a better than average eroge story to along with then it's quite recommendable.

Well if her route exist, it would probably involve Hidetaka being rather high-handed tit-for-tac manipulations being the meat of the game. All three sides have at least 1 brainy person as the anchor. It might even be good if it comes up with the two ruling the underground kingdom. Well, pretty much empty speculation on my part unless the FD surprises us.

The real surprise would be the game not crapping itself the moment it gets to the routes. The only decent ones in reminiscence were imouto and Kaito's side chapter, which was more than half copypaste from the common route.

I'm not sure if I'd agree with that, since I found iroseka incredibly boring and slow paced even though I liked the hoshimemo games. Something about the writing and characters really bothered me for some reason.
