マリオンのゲームブック was basically the only good doujin ero-rpg ever made, this one seem great too.

By the info given, there were some added parts and bits rewritten. Finished two 'routes' and nothing feels particularly different or out of place.
Production values are great, mainly the amount of CGs, also Kokia singing one of the eds.

I only finished one route and I really liked it, but I think I'll wait until they at least announce the expansion/fan-disk/sequel. Maybe they will even combine the expansion with Zero and fix everything I didn't like about the new gameplay.

I don't know if it's just me but I think the characters and humor felt a lot more western this time, which I really liked. I wonder if it's the reason Japanese disliked the game.

Yeah the humor felt bit more western also all the movie references. Although BSZ being milittary/mercanary setting so you just can't use your typical highschool humor here contributed to that feel too.
And yes they should do something to the gameplay, it wasn't horribad though just way too easy. Played the whole game on very hard and didn't realy have much trouble except at start against masses of hard mooks, and last boss being piss easy to win was annoying too, only challenging fight was against Kou.

Rebellions remake from SG:CR has a good ranking on EGS, but is that because the only people who played are longtime fans of the company/series or because it's good?

I liked it. The sisters routes were quite short though, but it was well done overall. Just got a bit silly here and there but as someone mentioned in a previous thread it makes you think of the dangers of abusing technology. Kind of an easygoing, heartwarming look at cyberpunk.

Bell is fucking cute. I always thought of her as spyware since the beginning, but I never thought she was actually a virus and the culprit behind Cocoro Function. Blew my mind. Asagao route wasn't that great but that revelation made it really worthwhile.

Asagao was the best route in my opinion, yes. You get to see a lot of backstory and it isn't that long. But I'm an imouto chaser so my opinion could be skewed.

I also liked Mebae's route, the dream thing had a nice surreal feel to it, and I couldn't stop thinking she had turned into some kind of drug dealer in the girls dorm.

Yeah, I figured that since she was the one who did the tech things her route would be the one to reveal the details of the CF.

I'm not a big fan of imouto characters myself, actually not much imoutos, but lolis, I just prefer a developed bodies over petite ones. That said Asagao was my favorite heroine in the common route, so that's another reason for leaving her for last.

About Mebae route, I agree, it was a interesting concept, but it was too short, too short.

Story first, Voice second and art last; a good example of this is Hello, World by Nitroplus, which is among my favourites. Hell, I rate Konyuu Fantasy 2 above many "normal" VNs simply because it has entertaining writing and more coherent plot (not to mention character motive changes). Voices are mostly fitting picks for me, but some are just odd, imo. Rarely do they break my will in reading, hooray for individual character voice mute option! Pretty art is nice, helps to immerse in the atmosphere (the looks of steampunk, magic fantasy, high sci-fi), especially in ero scenes.

Two routes in and this has been pretty great, fantastic character interactions, never fail to make me laugh and with a faster pacing than oretsuba which is welcome.
My main complain would be the routes, they go by too fast and there's not much interaction with the heroine once september kicks in and the plot is a bit of a mess in general and extremely vague, the ideas were good but the execution was lacking and since they follow the same structure, they have the exact same problems.
Enjoyed them a lot nonetheless, Komachi and Nozomi were love. Will probably take a rest from it and read something else, I feel they'll get too similar otherwise and want to enjoy Yaegashi.

After procrastinating for far too long I finally decided to marathon the rest of Haruka ni Aogi. Maybe pure love stuff just isn't for me but for a game this long it felt that there really wasn't much going in any of the routes. You can only play out relationship drama (the type that relies on characters simply not talking about their feelings / problems until the very, very end) so many times until it gets repetitive.

Yuuna's route was a bit more refreshing but they made the "Enrei is just pretending to be evil" twist too obvious with one of the interludes between the chapters.

Man, Ririko's H-scenes could have been SO MUCH BETTER. I mean, here you have two partners that practice as extremely physically demanding task. They're in constant close contact with each other's bodies. They have to be flawlessly in tune with each other at all times. They're both sporty and supposedly well built.

It was the perfect chance for a buildup staring me right in the face. You have the slow build-up of the sexual tension during the practice scenes, every once in a while someone cops an accidental feel and they have to rein in their passion.

And then, when they finally get to fuck, it starts slow but then when they get into it they release everything that's been building up, they put all the muscles they've been building into it. They go at it like animals, building shaking stuff, and it'd be a release for the reader as well. I would have cum so many buckets. But no, instead we have this flat boring prototypical japanese-type gentle sex with the submissive woman, completely disconnected from the rest of the story. God damn it, if you have to shove sex scenes into your story for reader expectation reasons at least try your best to make them hot.

I don't think that's necessarily true. They're pretty different stories. They do share a lot of thematic similarities, though, and I think a person who enjoyed one would be more likely to enjoy the other. Personally I watched and read Mouryo no Hako long before KnS and that didn't stop me from enjoying it - in fact I'd rank it among my all-time favorite visual novels.
