Cocoro was okay. It was nothing special but on the other hand it was a really enjoyable kyarage. Pretty art, enjoyable characters, seiyuu that fit those characters very well. The eroscenes were long...really long. The scenario was in many places very standard which is part of the small feeling of disappointment I have over it, but then again I might have been expecting too much out of it.

Monobeno is not hard so far, but then again I don't know what your standard for hard or easy is. There's no hard kanji or compounds, but there is some dialect in it which might be hard I guess?

I know and agree most of Overdrive is not that great, but Kira Kira in particular I felt was not more about the climax/"tweest"/plot but about the journey. It made me feel this spirit of youth that, while I'm not that old myself, it had this passion of mundane life that I have seen in few eroge.

Finished Tsujido-san no Junai Road. Hmmm I actually liked it better than Takahiro's previous stuff, specifically Majikoi. IMHO The Shonan setting is more interesting than power level martial arts academy. And having less characters and only 3 heroines instead of 5/6/12 was better. I took Maki first then Renna and lastly Ai, and that's also the order of the routes I like from the most to the least most. Not that I dislike Ai but Ai in Maki's route was well done. Character preference is Ai>Renna>Maki. Besides the heroines and Azusa, I also liked Tiara alot. Not in the heroine target sense but I thought Tiara was a very good support character for someone with no development.

Hmmm, though if I gotta say one thing about it, I gotta say I felt like there was a big chance missed here. It's a yankee setting and there's also talks about getting beat up so badly people get hospitalized but it's shrugged off shonen manga style. Specifically there's a scene in the prologue where Maki was about to seriously beat up the MC, a step further and the story and tone could've gotten darker and more serious but then it's like the writer woke up from having to seriously write an adult story and quickly switched the mood to happy go lucky moe moe time. But well, whatever I guess they're happy with this style of shonen jump writing but the setting was there for something better to happen if they wanted to.

Good read, I give it 9 butts out of 10.

Well, it doesn't have the despair of Swan Song, or the overall wtfness of Carnival, or just even the atmosphere of Kurai Heya, but I still think it was a solid, passionate rush of youth, as I said. The only route he kind of fleshed out the ending well was Kirari's, though. I also enjoyed the silly, bad humor.

Maybe I still have nostalgia goggles on, but I liked it. Not enough to re-read it, but I think it was worth the time.

Sapphism no Gensou is the basically uncontested queen of this, and it came out in 2001. You'd think there'd have been at least ONE major studio yurige since, but I guess not. Even Shirogane Otome, which looked like it was going in that direction, had a trap instead.

The writer for that game is actually the writer of Toradora. The premise is pretty standard, cold-hearted assassin since childhood that is able to shapeshift into a pink werewolf because of crazy medical research (yes, it's that random in game too) finds herself protecting innocent and good-natured girl that makes her discover the joys of life and stuff, but I found the writing sort of boring and you could see it lacked experience. It feels pretty raw with some good ideas (it doesn't really pull any punches) mingled in with a lot of questionable shit.
