Is this still stuck in development hell? I'd really like to see Keanu Reeves as Spike, even if the film is a horrible failure.

He said on leddit that the budget was way too high for the movie

Also I agree it would be interesting to see him as Spike. He's been typecast far too long into monotone-speaking emotionless straight man characters when he really is an outrageously good method actor

>> No.11550731

Does Keanu actually like anime?

I know he was in a rock band before he became a Hollywood actor. I wonder if he bummed around playing with his guitar and watching 90s cartoons.

>> No.11550734

Don't worry guys, we can crowdfund the movie.

If every person who would donate $5 or more tells 16 (and a half, lol!) people about it, then there's a 91% chance we'll hit the $500,000,000 budget!

(P.S. Upvotes for math? :D)

I can tell you assuredly that anyone in the top positions of the movie business has watched all of the massively successful shows and movies like Cowboy Bebop, GitS, the various Miyazaki movies, Evangelion and FLCL, and also that nobody in the top positions of the movie business has time to 'like' things.

Yes. We can also discuss visual novel adaptations of anime, manga, and light novels.

Anime and manga go in /a/. Is a live-action film an anime or manga? Of course not.

For that we would need users who are actually interested in a variety of Japanese things (as in, weeaboos) instead of people who just jack off and play video games all day. When it comes to discussing jacking off and materials that facilitate such activity, we actually do a pretty good job.

I don't know, but I don't think threads have to get 200 replies to be successful. Even if only two or three people show interest, that's something. At least it's different.

Probably because most people that are on /jp/ don't actually live in Japan, therefore wouldn't know jack shit about what's going on. Of course you could talk about culture and trends, book releases and shows from 10 years ago, but that looses its consistency for what the ideology of /jp/ is about. It's a catch 22, a double edged sword. /jp/ was doomed from the start.
