I am here to correct this shit as it PISSES ME OFF.

This rant of mine aims to get two points across through you thick, deluded skulls.

1. Remilia’s fate manipulation powers are a load of horseshit coated in chicken pellet sprinkles.
2. In actual fact, she is a WEAKLING BY VAMPIRE STANDARDS.

Now before we begin, I need to get a few points across so that people don’t spout out points in sheer denial towards the arguments that I will put forward.

Remilia Is a European vampire.
NOT a Youkai.
A Youkai is a JAPANEESE DEMON Therefore, all demons mythology and creatures that originate in Japan are referred to as such. Remilia is a vampire not a Youkai.

As you can see although there are similarities between, Youkai and European Vampires they are completely different, and like their country of origin, they are really FUCKING WEIRD.
In perfect memento in Strict sense there is a section on vampires; HOWEVER, Almost all the information on them, upon analysis is directly from the nearest source, in this case the SDM. Because of this, the silly Nippon’s in the human village assume that this applies to their vampires also. And as such both lore’s have become mixed. I will seprate this for you.

主な食事は人間の血液であり、吸血鬼を吸い尽くされた人間は、死ぬ事も幽霊になる事も適わず、ゾンビとなって暫く動いた後に日光で消滅する。
Their main diet is human's blood. Those who are sucked to death will neither die nor become a ghost; they will move around as a zombie for a while, then evaporate under sunlight.  European Vampirism by zombie they are actually referring to ‘Ghouls’ Servants of vampires which are similar to zombies in appearance.

They went on a rampage when they first appeared in Gensokyo, lost against powerful youkai, and a settlement was reached as they finally made a contract (*2).  People can misinterpret this for Remilia’s mist incident, but it says they lost against powerful Youkai not humans, this is the Youkai vampires which were mentioned.

その契約とは、妖怪が食料となる人間を提供する（＊３）代わりに、生きた幻想郷の人間を襲わない、という内容である。
The details of this contract are that the youkai will offer them humans from which to feed (*3); in return, the vampires will not attack humans living in Gensokyo.  This is a contract formed with the Youkai vampires and not Remilia, as Remilia gets her food from other sources, as such, has no need to do this although the possibility of her being supplied by Youkai anyhow still is plausible.
勿論、その契約は今でも有効である。
Of course, even now, the contract remains in effect.

吸血鬼は驚異的な身体能力と魔力を誇り、樹齢千年を超える大木を片手で掴んで持ち上げ、瞬きする間に人間の里を駆け抜け、一声掛けるだけで大量の悪 魔を召還し、自らを大量の蝙蝠に分解し、さらには霧状にまで細かくし何処にでも入り込み、頭以外が吹き飛ぶ怪我を負っても一晩で元通りになるという。
Vampires have marvelous physical performance and magical power: they are able to lift up a thousand-year-old tree single-handedly, to run through a human village within the blink of an eye, to summon many demons with a single word, to dissolve themselves into bats or even a pale mist to intrude into anywhere, and they can recover even when their body is blown away in a night, as long as their head is undamaged.  All European Vampire lore right here. Of course, we will get to the part of the part where I tell why Remilia CAN’T do any of this but I’ll keep quiet for now.

This makes them very fascinating.

However, perhaps due to their extraordinary abilities, they have many weaknesses.
まず、日光に弱い為昼間は大人しい。
First, they are weak against sunlight, so they are docile during the day. European.
流れ水を渡れないので雨の日も大人しいし、河も渡れない。

Neither can they go across flowing water, so they are docile on rainy days. Also, they can't cross rivers.
鰯の頭や折った柊の枝に近づけない。
They can't approach a sardine head or a shattered holly branch.  This is a Japaneese tradition which is supposed to ward demons away, If anything this should apply to Japaneese Youkai and Youkai vampires alike, but… I have my doubts that this is a efficient charm against Remilia or any other Youkai for that matter. So I’ll leave this one up for interpretation.

Their skin will be burnt if someone throws roasted soybeans upon them (*4).  Japaneese again, doesn’t this apply to Oni also?

For someone as powerful as a vampire, they are usually forbidden to directly assault humans.  Once again Youkai vampire Contract, most likely woudn’t apply with Remilia due to the whole scarlet mist incident as she fought a human, then again, is this contract even enforced? I wonder.

So, they aren't so dangerous even if you happen to face one.  Tell that to Flandre.

Instead, they usually choose to cause a disaster that affects the whole of Gensokyo.  Directly source information assumed from Remilia’s actions, Irrelevant and biased as one action of one being of a race cannot define it as a whole, I mean you don’t see other vampires pulling this shit off do you?

They create change in everything, including natural phenomena, for selfish reasons, which will always lead to endangering human life no matter what is affected.  I assume this is referring to Remilia’s non-existent fate manipulation, once again European vampires only.

対処法
How To Deal With Them
異変が起こった場合は、もう異変解決の能力を持つ専門家にお願いするしか他ない。
Once a disaster has occurred, there's no choice but to seek help from a specialist who has the power to settle the incident.  Gee, I wonder who that could be.
能力を持たない人間は、何とか生き延びる道を見つけるのみである。
The only thing an average human can do is find a way to survive.  or carry one of the many easy to make vampire hunting tools.
それ以外の時の吸血鬼は、比較的紳士である。
Aside from these times, vampires are relatively gentle and polite.  biased information from Remilia.

They pose little threat in such case.  Considering the fact that if a vampire drinks your blood and consumes your soul in the process making you live on inside of it, as a familiar I’d say if one took a chunk out of our resident miko or gapbitch I’d say we’d have a problem on our hands, I mean if you ate them, then Gensokyo would be practically yours to govern,

There anon, all the reasons as to why Remilia’s vampirism is not Asian vampirism, the reason why it is considered as such are because she was simply lumped together with the two, and not considered separate. Not that she cares mind you, confusion just benefits her meaning potential hunters could possibly bring the wrong gear to fight her.


Now then the key point that I will constantly address in this rant is the following:

Remilia creates a general image around herself and her mansion, using this she gains fear and respect for herself and her peers.
This is the key point that disapproves most of her LIES.

1. Remilia’s fate manipulation powers are a load of horseshit coated in chicken pellet sprinkles.

1. In Bohemian archive in Japanese Red, Aya interviews Flandre asking her how she blew up a meteorite that was headed for the SDM here is the extract.
“I have a feeling that asking you again will be a waste of time, but I'll ask one more time. No matter how, were you the one who blew up the meteorite?

Is what Miss Remilia said the truth?
About planning for the meteorite? There is no way that is true. She just likes to talk that way.
What way?
She just talks that way. She acts like she understands everything from the beginning. She talks this nonsense about understanding fate and everything.
From this extract we can deduce the following,
1. Remilia’s Fate manipulation is non-existent. Flandre states she simply talks that way.
2. In actual fact it is highly likely that the whole incident was a farce used to re-enforce Remilia’s ‘image’. Think about it, by using this Remilia gains the following:
• Bitches and respect
• Make people believe her fate manipulation is real meaning

• Show of the SDM’s power levels. More bitches and respect.
It is a common thing for vampires to live peacefully and for them to suck blood conservatively without bother, Remilia is weak and as such is a target for potential hunters, by pulling plans such as this, and she becomes feared and left alone by the general human population,.
This Fate manipulation nonsense also adds to this image, as using this she makes the human population believe that, if they affect her in any way she deems negative, she can uses her Fate-hax to make them die grizzly deaths.
In the fun facts on the Touhou wiki, where it says that ZUN has hinted otherwise in Sakuya's Perfect Memento in Strict Sense article, where Akyu has speculated that Remilia may have manipulated Sakuya's fate in such a way that she could have a more friendly relationship with other human beings, is now disapproved,

as Remilia has used her ‘image’ to make people think this, whereas it is quite the opposite, in reality, they fear her and as such treat her top-maid with respect.
Another example or Remilia trying to reinforce her ‘image’ is her claim to being related to this guy:

So yeah, I think you can safely say by now that her fate hax does not exist, and was brought upon by the fan bases shitty fanon, perhaps after people have read this, Diverse Remilia’s that rely solely on charisma will pop up.
