i dont know whats going on, but less shitposts are being deleted and shitposting threads are being deleted much slower. not really complaining because it was like nazi germany before though.

It's about the compression method and how png doesn't really go well with images with vivid colors. Sure, png is lossless but I doubt anyone here cares if your avatar is of compressed quality or not. What you're doing here is pretty much the same as "hey I heard this song yesterday it's pretty catchy wait a sec I'll send it to you: song.flac 50MB." No one sane does that.
