Janitor I think OP is trolling because there was a different song called Faerie's Aire and Death Waltz and people say ZUN ripped it off for U.N. Owen Was Her? after COOL&CREATE made a similarly-named arrangement.

While I do like that one arrangement of Bad Apple!! (and the video, screw you all), I think the original was very charming in its own way and all the arrangements I've heard haven't captured it very well.
I think it's due to the bleep-bloops of the PC-98. I don't know if that was that "FM synthesis" jazz that ZUN likes, but it sounded great. It made all the songs really catchy and exciting. Then the Windows games came out and we got trumpets. Lots and lots of trumpets.

I like pretty much entire PCB soudtrack in the MIDIs. When I first played it as a demo, it better matched, giving it a fable-like climate.
From newer ones the trance soundtrack from 13 is different enough to catch attention.

What happened is that there was a joke piece of sheet music called Faerie's Aire and Death Waltz. It was just a bunch of jokes... it doesn't sound like anything. A scan of it got popular online, usually in this "demotivator" with the text like "Aphex Twin: How does he do it?" or something, which is silly... Anyways, people started looking on Youtube for the song. One enterprising person decided to post another song and claim it was someone playing Death Waltz, and he chose Marasay playing UN Owen was Her.

This... lead to the current situation, which is understandable if you Youtube search "Death Waltz".
