Unfortunately, this place has become more and more normie friendly. We have alternative chans right now, but because of 4chan, their traffic remains unsatisfactory. If 4chan was to die, we would have lots of posters on those websites. The crowd that ruined the site would probably look into making their own sosach and be contained to it.

I think one of the main issues is that people are so used to 4chan being lax about the rules that everybody is having a hard time adjusting.

The whole reason 4chan became big is because you had the freedom to do and say whatever the HELL you wanted. Those freedoms have slowly but surely been replaced by more supervised and "on topic" forced discussion. Not like I miss the spam bots of the old days and an hardcore porno thread in between a bunch of Touhou threads but it's just not the same. /v/ got kind of better though. It's minly because of 4chan's image as "the asshole of the internet" attracting people who think this is the place for them to come and act like idiots. Proud that we could act like idiots on occasion without repercussions, without actually hindering discussion. Any divergence from this involves the person at the helm trying to make his own abstract ideal which almost no one will be on board with, take form. Any list someone comes up with will ultimately be something they alone decided, and even if ten or twelve anon say they can live with what's on that list, doesn't mean they will actually pick up from where they are at and move over to it, even in the odd event of someone getting past the planning stage and setting up a stillborn imageboard.
