I find that the most common justification for shitposting about Sakuya is that she is one of the characters being "forced down the throat" of the community. It's kind of ironic because on /jp/ for example, the only ones who actually post about her are in fact the shitposters, which completely negates the whole premise on which they post! Probably due to the popularity of the SDM girls. Hating popular stuff in standard fare on 4chan. EoSD is also an entry point for many people so EoSD characters can also be considered "entry level" touhous even if some of them have some of the most fleshed out personalities in canon due to their many appearances.

While Rumia might as well not even exist in the eyes of fanon, Flandre gets daily fangaying by the virtue of being an extra stage boss and being the sister of Remilia, despite being completely irrelevant since her initial appearance. She has had only two game appearances (with one being an X.0) and has appeared in the same literary works as (almost) all the other characters from EoSD through PoFV. She only has one manga appearance, where she doesn't have a word of dialog and appear as a silhouette.

Meanwhile, Sakuya has had playable character status in 3 games, Remilia was a final boss in EoSD, Sayuka's partner in IN, and played an important role in SSiB, and Patchouli has appeared in numerous endings, was one of Marisa's partners in SA, and was also an important character in SSiB. Even Hong fucking Meiling got her own scenario in 12.3 and was patched into 7.5. There's no real reason for Flandre to be relevant when she has not done anything since her appearance, and not so much as a namedrop in DDC. Her relevance in the series is on the same level as that of a stage 1 or 2 boss.
