You probably don't care, but if you do, here's a compilation of all the GBA Touhoumon roms that I have been able to find.

http://www.mediafire.com/?e9x40cx7sofsmv1

For those of you who do not know what Touhoumon is, it's basically pokemon with changed sprites, movesets, type matchups, difficulty, and overall is much better than the original pokemon games.

So if you like pokemon, but are tired of the same shit, play this. It'll almost be like the first time you played it, all over again. I'd recommend Amarillo-Veridian version first, or Touhoumon PPE (Puppet Play Emerald). Save insane version for when you really want to ragequit.

Nothing more will be posted about this matter, so don't ask for screenshots.

Also, here's some of the new type matchups.

Confusing, no?

Same as pokemon games.

So if you speedrun, like 3 hours. If you actually enjoy it, 20-40 hours isn't unusual. 100+ if you want to catch all of the Touhous.

>> No.11388750

>>11382007
No, it doesn't. Emerald is simply built on Touhoumon 1.8, while other versions are built upon 1.5. The type chart in 1.5 is broken as fuck (hello Dark/Ghost Mima!), while 1.8 is a lot more balanced in that regard. There are also other Touhoumon ROMs that use the 1.8 ruleset, but I'm can't recall names at the moment.

Did they actually made good trainer fights in this hack? The fights in the original pokémon-games are the worst part of it - all trainers used under-envolved pokémons and of each one three units (you fight 15 different pokémons in 80% of all fights). And the fighting-AI was literally non-existent, they used random attacks and didn't even changed their pokémons althrough they were at a huge type disadvantage. Game Freak is so damn bad at making good video games.

>> No.11388792

>>11388780
Emerald is considered to have the most challenging fights while still keeping them within reasonable fairness. Well, at least from my experience. Other hacks have more bullshit like artificial difficulty created by giving your enemies unobtainable Touhou with twice the base stats of normal ones.

>> No.11388804

>>11388792
By the way, that doesn't mean you can't steamroll any regular fight with the right puppet and being overleveled as fuck, which is rather easy when you focus on one or two good Touhou. You just can't fix the AI being dumb.

>> No.11388970

>>11388742
It depends on the hack. 1.8 touhoumon hacks have the split, but 1.5 hacks usually still have the "fire punch is fire type so it's special" bullshit

>> No.11388984

How do the evolutions work? It looks like there are 4 or 5 forms of certain touhou.

>> No.11389004

>>11388984
For most all of them there's a "standard" evolution you can get via leveling up. Other forms are gotten by using an item: shards in emerald and iirc hearts in FR. Similar to eeveelutions, really.
