>Obviously the best track from Pop Culture. Thomas Dewey-chan kawaii〜

>This is the speech Thomas Dewey, the Republican presidential candidate in the election of 1948, gave upon learning that he had won against the Democratic candidate Harry Truman. It was a foregone conclusion that Dewey would win, and he had run a bromidic, unambitious campaign, attempting to play it safe.

>It turned out that this was a huge mistake. Truman won: the paper which Dewey got his information from printed the wrong information. Hence the famous photo of Truman holding up an issue proclaiming falsely his own defeat.

>It's not actually a very good speech, but it sounds cool, so Minoshima stuck it in.

Hah. I was tempted to make a sub track and add "lyrics" to the title, but I was too lazy.

Anyway, that and Binary Catwalk are pretty much the only tracks I've listened to out of context of the rest of the album, but I didn't dislike it like some did. Funnily, a lot of these tracks sound more like something you'd hear in a club than the actual dancehall albums. lol

Would that Minoshima release an album like Strings of Life again just for the hell of it though.

Anyway, most recent album from C84 I've listened to is Reverberation of the Nickel Strings, which is Crow's Claw's release: an original. I thought I would be disappointed at its relative softness, but it's still pretty fucking legit.

>a lot of these tracks sound more like something you'd hear in a club than the actual dancehall albums

That's because they were arranged so well making them able to stand on their own without having to rely on their connection to the Touhou franchise.

I tried looking into this more since I want to copy all my CDs in v0, it seems that the newest version of LAME (from over a year ago) no longer uses a lowpass by default:
http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=91372&st=0&p=772499&#entry772499
so I suppose that's why you're seeing multiple v0 files with no cutoff. The thread doesn't really provide an answer why that change happened though, though i guess they suspect its cosmetic for spectrograms.

Briefly messing with spek and Felt's album I noticed that NAGI's tracks appear cut off but the others are fine. Ah well still sounds great.

>>11336328
Oh hey, Tumeneco. ...The crossfade doesn't sound spectacular, but that last song seems interesting. Man, now that I think about it Ciel and Genmu were great albums. Best of their instrumental and vocal, respectively.

Either way, seeing how a lot of the lossy uploads seem to be outright bad transcodes and/or not properly tagged, should I start putting lossy transcodes of the lossless stuff on my server? If so, Vorbis q6 or LAME V0? The former would have the advantage of being slightly smaller and supporting gapless playback, but I don’t know if you guys need maximum compatibility with shitty portable devices or something.

>supporting gapless playback
Proper audio players support gapless playback for MP3.

>> No.11336943

>>11336910
There is no standard way to do gapless playback in MP3 because the standard defines no way to store encoder delay. Workarounds exist (e.g. LAME records it in a non-standard tag), but no proper solution that works with everything. “Proper audio players” are really just players that happen to support a random non-standard tag.

Any good instrumental rock or metal yet?
I checked out the ECE-SMZ/JOYH-TV/Aether_Eru album but it wasn't really what I was expecting, kinda weird, had rap in it at one point.

who the fuck labeled 'rebirth dancehall' on the spread sheet "tracks compilation, nothing new" ????

minoshima literally made all the songs progressively merge and he remastered nearly all of the songs (the base construction is clearly different in a lot of them)

someone fix that on the spreadsheet

Did GoldFish release something new in C84?
It seems they released something back in M3-31, but it went under radar and nobody seems to know what was that.
