Started this and not far from the beginning - Nodoka is a little too overwhelming at this point, so afraid it will be tiring to read later on. The childhood friend is a violent bully, the worst type of tsundere there is - the mc only mentioned like 10 lines about her at this point and frankly none of it is good, even the little sister knows about his trauma. Utter shit, not looking forward to reading her part (personally experienced the same trauma in RL at similar point, ugh). The underclass girl for the moment has little to say, other than the her supposed energy and her unbashfulness in saying the MC is good-looking and very nice (to have as a boyfriend).

The little sister - by far the best character, so far a balance of joke/seriousness, can't wait to see how her brother complex plays out. Impression on MC is a litle muddled right now other than the trauma from the bullying; while he is passive so far, the VN description implies he will have to cope with certain incoming event, hopefully he will switch up a gear or two.

Seriously, that's it? There's barely no plot, and only hardcore Vanilla. Masaki's route was better than this. Now I can play other things I guess.

A game for emotional masochists, but it was good and I liked it, at least the production values were good for a 2002 game (voice acting a bit poor, not just Nano's voice), many sprites and good music. Also the last route I did was fitting as it mentioned yukiuta in the second to last line.

I am in the middle chapter two. Inori is such a bitch it isn't funny in any capacity, there has been only two scenes in the entire game in which she has been pleasant. Nodaka calms down and becomes a bit of a non-character. Yuuki is a good girl but not much else. Nia pisses me the hell off but it comes with the kind of character she is.

Korone is the star of this VN by a wide margin. Good chemistry with other characters and Minato feels more alive around her than any other heroine.

It seems this game will have a true end save only for last minute choices so it isn't like you can splinter off into a route of the heroine you like.

Just went through Daitoshokan's side story. It being short isn't surprising, but it was shorter than it should have been. Both the main issue the characters face and the romance development felt pretty rushed and compact, when they should have been worked on a bit more. In Nozomi's route, it didn't really feel like she and the protagonist became a couple. They declare their love, her misunderstanding is brushed aside in 5 minutes and they kiss, but after that there wasn't much else in terms of romance.

If you're thinking of playing this just to see some more of the original game's cast, you probably shouldn't bother. Only Ureshino gets any decent screentime. Misono gets a bit, Tamamo and the Student Council duo get a very brief appearance, Kana is background material only, Kodachi seems to appear for 5 seconds hidden behind a tree for some reason, Shirasaki, Kakei, Takamine and Miyu are completely absent.

Overall, it wasn't exactly bad or anything. What little content is there was fairly good and it had good production values like the original Daitoshokan, although there was a lot of recycling of BGMs, but the main problem is it's length and how compact everything was. On the other hand, since it's just an investment of 2 to 3 hours even if you don't like it you won't be wasting much time.

Finished all endings, length is about average (15-20 hours) and the overall format in selection prompts could be slightly simplified but arguably a minor issue since the text skip function is great. I actually like the exploration aspect as the MC bothers to enjoy his new found event and goes to do other stuff - pic related. Few VN actually bother to do as they use similar mechanism to go straight down, rather than to experiment. It's not like this added a lot more content however small things add up to make MC's later naviety, thoughts and memory having more impact, seeing how he relates the time and experience.

Some of my original expectations never came to be, which are both good and bad: Nodoka no longer felt overpowering due to her portion of content split as you go on; there was little over in how the younger sister played out; really nothing much to be said about the Yuki; the writer must have a thing for bully tsundere, as she is the only one shown on screen to be putting some effort in, compare to other girls like on some auto-rail.

As for the endings: Inori has the most complete ending - it has an ending CG as the part of main menu screen, did not flash to the other girls' reaction to his choice and finally he did not say any additional dialogue after his selection (like "please take care of those three", or "can you do what we spoke about before"). This is quite notable compare to three other endings, goes back to my speculation the writer has a thing for the bully tsundere. The true end, aka the harem end is fairly typical - everyone lives happily after, seems like they became gods of their domain

What can I expect from this VN? More or less successor to HnM?

Just finished the true end in Battle Goddess VERITA.
I liked the gameplay improvements over ZERO, but the story was lacking. It seemed to be setting up everything for the final chapter, and the final chapter was pretty frustrating because of so many timeskips and supposedly significant events happening offscreen. Overall it was enjoyable though, and I am looking forward to the remake whenever Eushully decide to make it.

Being Serika is suffering, he goes through too much. Looking forward to how he's screwed in the next game, where I hear it has NTR. Ultimately, it seems to be setting up for a happy end with Satia.

Just have a few questions I wanted to ask because the game wasn't clear on this:
What the heck happened to Rashena after she became Serika's wings? From her last words, she wasn't dead but I dunno where she is. Either way, I can see her and Revia probably joining Serika's maid harem in the future.

Who is Shuri supposed to be a reincarnation of? The only person I can think of is Kaya.

Also, are the other routes worth playing? I'm thinking of going through the light route anyways because of extra scenes, and the probably good end.

This is why I like the IF routes way better to be honest. They aren't tied down by canon so they actually wrapped things up. I'm more biased toward the dark routes, the light route is too happy.

Houkago Shippo Days already threw the curveball in regards to Kana by not giving her even a single line, especially considering that there was many scenes taking place in Aprio. During Sakuya's route, Sakuya starts working in Aprio so they could have at least had Kana give her some guidance or something instead of a game of Spot the World Heritage. At least it had plenty of Ureshino, which ties with Kana as my favorite heroine. Either way, there will probably be a lot of Kana goodness in the fandisc, so there's nothing to do but wait for that. Maybe they could even add the new characters and flesh them out a bit, which was something that Shippo Days lacked.

Meanwhile, The KDC takes a gander at our new cast with the satisfied face of someone whose plans went totally as desired for reasons which I don't comprehend at all. I'm pretty sure she didn't send the trio any message or anything.

Planning on plowing through some of my backlog until December's Senshinkan release and decided to pick up something lighter for a change of pace.
Looking forward to Baldr Sky Zero and Hinata no Tsuki. Also hoping that something about third Ley Line game gets announced in the coming months.

This summer was FUCKING HORRIBLE in terms of summer-themed charage and the like tjat didn't look offensively bad.
There's berry's, which at least takes place in the summer vacation, natsukumo, which you probably played I guess, and sensuibu, didn't like the premise anyway.
Of course there was himanastu in march, had two good routes.
Fucking winter and spring always taking the seasonal eroge theme. At least summer isn't as deserted as fall in this regard..

First part Leyline cut us short with the not enough world-building and its 3 mini stories/ends. Second part was better with the storytelling even though it's told in the same manner as the first. First part is subpar, really, you should just follow a guide and speed (forced skip) through to the true end, which the second Leyline continues from.

The first one's pretty much a straight-up moege and mostly exists to introduce the school, characters and foreshadows a bunch of stuff, some rather painfully obvious and others that make you vocalize "holy shit" when they're revealed.
The second game starts out rather similarly, but this time there's also a general mystery on top of the separate small cases. It becomes much more serious and especially the last chapters in the canon route are pretty emotional, action packed twist storms. Easily my favorite 2013 game so far.

The new characters are also really entertaining.

I just finished Phenomeno and I would like to ask something.
Was there a choice in the original game that was left out of the english patch? I felt like it was missing.

Even though this is a little bit of and apples to oranges comparison I think Cosmic Cute's first game, Lovesick Puppies, was better than Gleamgarden.

I liked the heroines better in lovesick puppies and it felt like a well put together moege. My favorite moege of the year.

Gleamgarden was interesting but the heroines weren't as good and the story was a bit underwhelming. Lovesick Puppies sold better too but I would prefer if they went more in Gleamgarden's direction.

Anyone played the demo of Saimin Enbu yet?

Maybe it's just me but I don't like how the main character (Kazusa) is an ikemen. The great point about hypnotism is that it allows average looking guy like Yanagi to do stuff to women he would never have a chance with.
Kazusa is good-looking, smart, and rich, so I think the point of using hypnotism will be diminished.

I'm downloading the trial right now, hopefully the sex gets better compared to Yuugi, but as far as MC goes I think Yanagi will be superior.

I don't have any instant mute target. There isn't any VA that I can say I hate considering many of them can sound completely different depending on the role, but even if I did I don't want to spend the entire game being tormented by the awkwardness of a single relevant character being unvoiced, especially not an heroine.
