Hao Miyuzaki movies, probably. I've been watching them since at least 2003, before I even know what anime was. Most of them weren't translated back then, but the few that were were enjoyable for me.

I think a couple years later, someone had a shounen jump in class, and I remember reading Hikaru no Go and some other things that I can't remember. I read Naruto for a while in like 2008, and then after that, I kind of fell out. It left a sour taste in my mouth. I only got back into things when I graduated high school.

I watched anime on Saturday morning or afternoon television when I was young. When I was a high school senior I read through all of Bleach and Naruto online.

After that I irregularly picked up a new manga series and watched the whole thing through. I started watching anime and visiting /a/ a few years later. Then I got into Touhou Project.

Started with NHK and Stiens gate, then things got weird when I started playing VN's like G-sengou / YMK / SNK. I think playing through MGQ was hitting rock bottom.

I guess my gateway into anime in general was, like most people my age, Adult Swim. Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Big O, all that good shit

As for weeaboodom and especially touhou? When a friend of mine introduced me to UNL. I don't play many fighting games, but it had really unique gameplay (compared to the ones I knew of) and I thought it was really cute and fun. My interest just flourished from there

Not the guy who posted this, but wow, I would have thought that at least half of /jp/ would fall into this category. Are you guys all younger than me, or did you just not get into otaku stuff until later in your lives?

I got specifically into "anime" with Ranma 1/2 and a few other shows of that era, I was watching them in 1993 - 94, when I was in early elementary school. I started fapping to 2D characters with Slayers, and got into VNs with Kanon and To Heart around 1999 - 2000. I am 26 now, and born in 87.

Not trying to be elitist or oldfag or whatever I'm just curious.
