Do you think that in the 2D realm there are master 3DCG artists who insist that 3D is superior?

No. It is impossible.
On /sci/, this was used to explain projections of a hypercube (so called 4 dimensional object).
Think of it this way, we in the 3 dimensional world cannot begin to perceive what a 4 dimensional object looks like, simply because we exist in a lower dimension. We can perceive 2D and 1D easily though.
As such, for any existence living a 2D existence, they cannot perceive what a 3 dimensional object looks like. They can only make a projection as to what it might look like. They have no sense of depth, and any "3DCG artist" might as well be a mathematician bent on mental masturbation.

>>11259985
But the 2D realm has shading. It's not one of your flat, moe 2D realms, it's the three/four-tone 2D realm that's been around since the 80s.

So they have some sense of depth. Maybe the word isn't truly 2D to them. They can still walk around in three dimensions, but everything would appear "2D" from our point of view. To them it's normal. And it makes sense that, in their world, some artist would expand on the natural shading in reality, and create what we would perceive as realistic-looking 3D models.

>> No.11260022

>>11260000
To assume a 2D existence has any 3 dimensional senses is just wishful thinking on the part of a 3D existence. A hand waving away on the part of the artists.

Well I say this because in our cartoons and games, characters are aware of depth. They walk towards the camera. Streets run off into the distance. They're not stuck in a platform game where all they can see are a series of line segments.

That's the world we're talking about. Not the boring Flatlander shit where pentagons bump into squares.
