So I've been trying to learn more about the different subcultures of the Train Otakus. I personally find going to the different stations and exploring them and the areas around them to be fairly fun. Im fairly methodical about this process. I take a picture at the station and document what I did that day.

I know small amounts about the other types. I know there are people who like taking pictures of the trains. Does anyone have any specifics about this hobby? A friend recently told me that there are also people who like to eat bentous at different stations, but didn't know much past that. Anyone got any more info on these kinds of people. Any other subcultures of Densha Otakus?

Putting "otaku" somewhere in your post doesn't magically make it relevant to /jp/.

/n/ is relevant but /int/ definitely isn't

Sure it isn't. They even have photography tier dumps every now and then about locations of the world.

I think you will get along.

Seeing as you can pick up train items right along with the anime and idol stuff in Nakano and Akihabara I fail to see how asking specifically about the culture is somehow completely off topic here.

Trains are one of the biggest subcultures related to otaku in Japan, you know.

I'm not saying it isn't, I was just commenting on the other guy's link.

Though, this place stopped being entirely about Japan ages ago.

We only talk about a couple things on /jp/. Those being Touhou, VNs, shitposting, flavor of the month game and finally music. Although I would happily discuss trains with you if you started the thread with a train cam, but those aren't allowed any more because normalfag Janny doesn't like them.
