It's not without its downsides and side effects though. But I don't mind them taking our stale memes and running them into the ground, as they would eventually get old and rotten here anyway. Why do people post threads about "theme A" on a board that is about "theme B"? (for example: posting video games, that are not 2hu, doujin or VNs, on /jp/ even though there is /v/ ) Because people want to discuss the theme with the specific userbase of that board, because the other board is filled with normies and kids. This problem could have been avoided if moot got a bigger moderation team and started actively ban all the normie and underage shit back in 2006.
