It's assumed the translation is fan made unless official is in front of it.

You're still wrong, ESL-kun.

It should be: "It should be why?"

Subject-verb-adverb.

What counts as an official translation? A lot of JAST USA and MangaGamer releases are still fan translations, and plenty of non-commercial fan translations receive the original authors' blessings.

What about "Why should it be?" Not s-v-a but still correct.

"Why" is an adverb. That would be like writing, "Slowly walked he", instead of, "He walked slowly", or, "He slowly walked".

Don't they teach you kids nothing at school?

The proper grammar is:
Why? It should be?

Nothing else.

"It should be? Why?" is also acceptable.

"Slowly walked he" still sounds correct to me, albeit a little archaic. I never paid attention to grammar at school.

Intentionally bad subbing being commonplace is something new in the past few years, people didn't always publish so many "troll"/prank subs. Up until recently it would have been a lot of trouble to go to, just to pull people's legs. And also you didn't have as many under-the-table copyright cops encouraging people to make fakes, or as many dickwavers like moot looking for whatever attention they could possibly get over the internet.

>> No.11052903

Six years ago I translated something "to get better at Japanese". I was so ashamed once I actually got better that I changed my internet handle and disappeared.

This is my confession to you, /jp/, and I can never undo the damage I did.

I'm currently in the project of translating a couple things to get better at Japanese.

Fortunately for me none of them will ever see the light of day.
