the inline extension apparently includes support for soundcloud links as well as youtube links, so it's not the sound he has a problem with, it's messing with the image files he has a problem with.

There is actually a good valid reason for this: if you save an image on 4chan, you never know if there's secretly a hidden archive with something you might not want to repost stuck inside the image file. Repost.gif might have a recording of somebodys hueg-ass fart embedded in it, and you might never know.
