FLAC gets better compression ratios.

Furthermore, encoding is a one-time affair, done in a few seconds per track on a powerful machine. Decoding happens all the time, on various devices of varying computing power. 2x more decoding time means half the battery life on portable player, higher CPU state maintained on a smartphone leading to more battery drain etc.

As cloned as most of the touhou music is, I think they could but shouldn't. If they don't have good music to offer, they shouldn't offer it. I understand wanting to be a part of these events and being spread thin from it, however just because they can doesn't mean they should. Poplica and Syrufit don't have anything out at R10, but will for the next Comiket. They are doing it right. Quality of quantity. I find their claim of ``ULTIMATE ROCK NO PROGRAMMING'' or whatever really dubious though. Some of their guitar licks and drum rolls sound exactly the same between songs, so I find it dubious that they're not using samples.

No, you really don't. You have already demonstrated your absolute lack of intelligence to the world at large. Now, you are simply trying to save your public image after I have brought it to ruination. But I wont let you. The world must know what a piece of garbage you are, if it has any hopes of growing past your ultimate scumlyness.

This is a good thing, for you and the world both. With your public acceptance of your absolute garbageness, everyone will be able to work towards a better future, one where you aren't a gargantuan sack of trash. Unshackle yourself from the pathetic dignity you take pride in, apologize to me publicly, and I might be magnanimous on your bootyass. Refuse, and I will unveil the private emails you sent to me, shamelessly begging me to be benevolent.

Don't fret; there's no need for such fright as you are surely exhibiting. Just admit it, here and now to all onlookers, and you can begin the long journey of repairing your tarnished image. With some work, you might even be capable of looking a dog straight in the eyes, as an equal.

Absolutely hilarious. That wasn't the tune you were singing when you begging me in a private message, saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I know I'm absolutely defeated right this minuteness, but I just can't say that on the board. My public image will be ruined, and nobody will respect me any longer. Please be lenient, I implore you to have mercy!"

Well too late. The secrets out. Your garbageness is dripping down the grapevine as we speak right this second. Everyone is holding their hands to their mouth, hiding quiet chuckles and mean grins at your patheticness.

You're done for, now. Nobody will respect anything you have to say, until you prove to them you aren't a sack of shit masquerading as a human being.

Not distorting your digitally sequenced tracks, sourced from digital sources (synths, samples, soundfonts etc) in a DAW is something any 1st year audio engineer could do.

Tuning your instrument in most cases is the first thing you should learn when picking up an instrument, yet some doujin musicians fail at even that.

This is doujin, there's no professional obligation, standards, or anything like that involved. If you can't love doujin music for their imperfections, nobody's forcing you to listen to them, there are more polished, commercial alternatives available. Take it easy~

>This isn't a random one-gig circle created by a university club. It's FELT.
But this is a problem. You're the one with a predetermined view of their quality, yet they themselves have little to no reason to adhere to such perceived yet most likely baseless standard of quality. Claims such as ``it's FELT'' has inherently no weight.

And furthermore, FELT aren't exactly known for their pristine mastering in the first place, so this is doubly moot.

>And keeping your levels correct in the DAW is infinitely easier than tuning an instrument.
laughing_girls.jpg
This is mostly not the case, I can assure you.

>>11011818
This would be somewhat relevant if anyone here actually bought the album (if you did, good on you!). But then, the fact that they're selling a -doujin- record would evidently suggest to anyone buying said record the quality of the content. In other words, it's a doujin work, if you bought it and got something above average, great, but if not, well, you willingly and knowingly bought a -fan made- work, so you've got to have expected that.

>there would still be absolutely nothing wrong with pointing out flaws in their work.
But there's almost no value in doing so. It's not like the circle members venture these boards. It's not like it will dissuade anyone from buying or downloading said work. It would be infinitely more beneficial to mail them about the purported issue instead of complaining here, of all places.

>> No.11011972

If you think it's such a life-threatening problem, even under hobbyist context - of which imperfections and shortcomings are practically a symbol, nonetheless - then go ahead and email them.

You're wasting your brilliant expert armchair audio engineer wisdom with us mere plebs. I'm sure with your firm logic and expert dissertation you can convince them to come to their senses and avoid such palpable mistake in the future.

>I'm sorry you're braindamaged and cannot understand peak meters.

You should return to your hugbox.

>Then go ahead and email them.

I don't have to. They probably know already and they will take measures to correct the problem in their next release. Never mind the fact that there were a lot of complains on 2ch about this. Regardless, it's not an issue of artistic direction or choice, it's an objectively bad piece of

>frequency correctness

I had to use Google because I thought it was some term that didn't translate well from English (although I've never heard it in the past) but then I see you're using the term literally in some sense (since nobody else on the internet uses it). I have already analyzed the offending track and judging by the spectogram I am sure that a channel ended up clipping during mastering with the DAW applying softening on the clipping before going from 32bit Floating Point to 16bit integer (for CD pressing). It's a shoddy hackjob of a master, WOuld be OK back in the 90s when we used cheap analog mixers and tapes (later MDs) but not today.

Let me interject for a moment. Audiofools are all about wasting money on cables standoffs and amplifier stands that any sane person would know produce no audible improvement to sound quality, while at the same time dismissing all the science and objective testing methods that goes into designing electronic equipment in the first place. Expecting decent mastering is a whole different thing, and something that would pass an ABX test is not audiofoolery.

Sometimes vocals are great, and people point it out. Sometimes vocals are shit, and people point it out. Same for the mastering. I don't see why people are irritated that somebody pointed out that FELT dropped the ball.

You put them in their own tags, duh.

lyricist=...
producer=...
performer:vocals=...
performer:violin=...

The last two use performer roles, which are supported by good music players. This even works for MP3s (which use the braindead id3v2 tag format), as non-standard tags can be stored as user text frames.

Also the minimodding involved in keeping the split working is extremely obnoxious.
