koishi is only as good as she is understood by the opponent.
I've beaten people 4-5 times in a row before until they started understanding what not to do against koishi. You can't try to snipe her or gorilla charge her.

If you are a good koishi player the only things that can beat you are ZUN and death.

More like the Reimus you're watching aren't using 4flashkick. 8flashkick is hella punishable and 6flashkick is garbage. 4flash is incredibly hard to punish unless it's a straight whiff and even then some characters have a hard time dealing with it. Also, in the event they're easily punishable, the damage she gets off of them is still the highest possible damage in the game barring the Nitori loop that'll probably get removed in some fashion.

Also Youkai Busters is faster than almost every melee in the game and Reimu can use it to trade with everything because bullets don't disappear when the thrower is hit.

Nitori mirror is almost as annoying to fight as Iku back when she was known as an S tier.

It isn't fighting the character itself, it's the fact that everybody is flocking to what they believe to be S tier and failing miserably at using her. Nothing makes me cringe harder than seeing them flail all around the screen and drop her loops consistently.

Thanks, you're pretty good too. Reimu really gains popularity fast and is hard to pin down. I noticed only one of your teleport kicks is safe though, and all of them are pretty unsafe if you whiff. Also, I tested this out earlier, my Witch Leyline is safe at max distance, and unsafe at all other distances. It's also pretty safe if half of it is blocked and the other half whiffs. That's why some of the time you couldn't punish it.

It was kind of annoying to see my declare -> super combos whiff online. But I guess it's to be expected, the window is pretty small after the dizzy.

You can counter her teleport with timing, but you'll need to practice dashing away or towards her after you enter her ring. Watch if it's a fake ring. You can cast a blank one by using the skill with an empty power bar.

In my games all Futo has done is run away and throw plates at me. Futo is really fast, so... Futo with plates out isn't really that scary even. She can't convert plate presence into absurd damage like an Ichirin, Nitori, or Reimu can, and given that the plates are pretty flimsy projectiles, she won't get any plates out unless she manually places them one-by-one anyways.

Her damage is about the same as most characters' both with or without spellcards.
Beyond this though she has pretty terrific midscreen options and combos that ends with plates to spare. The pressure never ends if you are facing a good Futo player.

2.3k is pretty low damage. Marisa breaks 3.1k easily, Nitori and Ichirin can almost hit 4k or higher and Reimu hits 4.2k. All four of those characters' numbers are without spellcards. Given that there's nine playable characters currently, saying that 2.3k is almost the same as "most the cast" when almost half the cast breaks 3k easily and nearly a third of the cast doubles her damage is ridiculous. Any single one connect from those fireballs can be followed up to at least 3k damage, even if she is a full non-zoomed out screen away. No prior prep-work needed. Which really gives her pressure some merit.

Heck. With enough broken plates she can spellcard into over 8k damage. 9k even if she maxes out at 99 broken plates.
Oh. And that's also a thing. Her broken plates. Break 50 plates and these regular combos ups in damages and closes in to 4k damage. Take the broken plates beyond 50 and can do more damage 4k, with her regular combos. With the pressure as thick as ever and the full screen combos as true as ever.

Needless to say, Futo can do a whole lot more than just run away. Her pressure is about the thickest in the entire game, and her damage isn't anything negligible and it grows as the match goes by.

I got cornered a lot since I have troubles moving in this game. It requires a lot of double tapping to graze, but I don`t use keyboard so I find it a bit tricky. Once you have enough in one, it lights up, modifying your abilities.
For Shinto, the bullets gain homing, or spread additional bullets.
For Tao, the bullets get faster, often require more precision.
For Buddhism, the bullets are much shorter in range, however you can charge heavy melee attacks.
