How did you make your computer look like that?

I can't even get it to start.

It only crashes when I try to play as Sakuya.

It always works for the start-up crash. You rename it and remove any foreign characters, and it starts up.

This is the real issue. It will randomly crash, usually near the end of Stage 2, if you're playing as SakuyaA. I haven't heard of any fixes to this.

Mine still crashes at start up, after taking that advice.

Things you could try:

Install the game using applocale (and as administrator)
Make sure the installation folder (or the .exe) doesn't have any moonrunes in the filename.
Make sure you have the needed .dll's
Try different modes of compatibility, like setting it to run for XP SP2/SP3.
Try disabling aero.
Run the game with (or without) applocale (and as administrator).
I had problems running it in 1280x960 in fullscreen, try running the game in window mode (settings in custom.exe)

I can run any 2hu, so maybe you have outdated d3dx's files. I leave you mine, so update/copy the old ones/the ones you don't have.

How does one get a Japanese copy of Windows so they don't have to worry about this shit?

14 works fine for me.
13.5 is the one that keeps crashing when I get to the final boss in Story Mode.

From what I understand there's still differences between the ones released in different countries, albeit extremely minor ones. For example IIRC there's some file that programs can check to see which version you're actually using, and some Japanese games will check it and deny access to non-Japanese copies. Maybe I've heard wrong though.

Some chink thought it was a brilliant idea to write out the filename in Chinese instead of keeping it in Japanese. That's the reason why "Touhou" is written as "东方" instead of "東方" in the filename--The filename is written with Chinese characters, so starting it up under a Japanese locale isn't going to work.

You have to rename the game folder so that it doesn't have any Chinese characters in them.

This is what happens when you rely on that Baidu shit for your downloads.

Anyone have the DLL for 14? Apparently the shit I downloaded doesnt have them.

Why are you still using windows? You wouldn't have these kind of issues.

I can run it fine in windowed mode but it freezes on the first loading screen if I try to run it in full screen. Not only that, but when I run it in windowed mode I get sort of like static that keeps showing up on screen even after I'm done playing.
