Brazil is probably filled with the second largest of weeboos next to America and the fact they have had a large economic rise since then. I would say /jp/ is made up of 42% regular Brazilian posters.

Please don't bully Brazil. I'm sure most of them here aren't even natives nor with black blood. Brazilians here are most likely entirely white from their grandfathers escaping the nazi hunters and trials.

Brazil has the largest population of Japanese outside of Japan. They went there as farmers during the early days.

Not really. After they became independent they had more black people than actual indigenous people on their land due to a surplus of slaves left behind by Portuguese merchants who made a well-famed triangle journey (3 destinations: brazil to sell slaves for gold and diamonds, portugal to sell the diamonds and gold for money, africa to buy slaves) which went on for years and years. They got black people and europe kept all the riches because portuguese merchant ships couldn't fight worth a shit and ended up getting sunk by pirates on their journey back to portugal.

I know a girl who's half Japanese and she knows nothing about her heritage or language and she considers herself white. It seems pathetic, yet expected. Then again, I guess that happens to all immigrants families after they've been in the country for so long. Her grandparents being locked up in camps probably didn't help either...they probably made the Japanese in those camps repeat the pledge of allegiance 100 times a day and taught them how to make hamburgers and apple pie.

>> No.10939350

I wonder if her grandparents knew George Takei.
