Shit man, there was only like 10-15 translated visual novels when I was younger.
Now there is so many of them, I can't keep up. And I hardly play them anymore to begin with.

I don't think we even need that much storage. I think a music album could be a megabyte or two, but we've all just accepted that MPEG and co. are probably doing their jobs properly and not at all in cahoots with hard drive manufacturers.

Maybe those people in the past who said we'd never need more than a few megabytes of hard disk space had a point.

If there is so much more media today, how come there is so much less to do?

Has everything lost it's novelty? Or has everthing lost it's hardcore factor due to chasing after the masses for profit?

I feel like I have ADD when I'm consuming my media. I'll skip through large sections of VNs and stop watching videos after ten minutes because I get bored. Not that a good hook isn't important, but I'm definitely more picky because of all the stuff out there.

In a way it's a very bad thing. If you were some guy living before the internet, there wasn't a whole lot of stuff on television or very many films playing. I guess it made you more patient and tolerant, which is why a lot of old shows and films feel pretty slow-paced by modern standards.
