smile.dk was at a con I went to. I'm not a huge fan of their music, but I used to play a lot of DDR so it was pretty nostalgic. The last day of the con, there was a guy playing vidya/anime stuff on a saxophone in the hallway, and I was just kinda sitting there trying to muster the motivation to leave and drive home when smile.dk walked up and asked him if he knew Butterfly. They actually sang Butterfly in a hallway to an audience of like ten people, it was pretty neat.

I was just looking up some of the more recent games, and Jesus Christ, what a clusterfuck. Disney DDR? Mario DDR? My First DDR? Really?

And they have stupid Justin Timberlake pop songs. I think one of the biggest complaints about earlier games was that they didn't have songs people knew, but it was a good way to find delicious cheesy eurodance music, and that music is way better than Ashley Tisdale or whatever.

When I was 16 I used to play StepMania at school. Various people wanted to give it a try and they'd play random songs, and it was embarrassing whenever they were high-pitched eurodance/pop songs.

Now I couldn't give a fuck. These songs are fun. It's like eating sweets as a grown-up.
