It's everything I have wanted from an image board site, sorry. No fucking normals, everyone hates 3D, Touhou board, NEET board, Anime board, waifu board. No ass holes and ironic shitposting 24/7, I could go on. Also I have been noticing /jp/ers going on there, maybe something to do with the new janitor.

Maybe I shouldn't talk positively about it and bring idiots in. Disregard all of that, Tohno-chan is a cancerous /b/ tier board for shitposting and discussing video games.

No, but I've thought about it. You'd have to be crazy not to.
I guess the reason I never follow through is because I've invested too much in this place to just get up and leave. At least that's what I like to tell myself, but really when you get right down to the heart of it, where else do I have to go? All the spin-off boards are dead or terrible. The old holdouts are dropping like flies or drowning in their obscurity. Futaba and 2channel are nice for a visit, but they're too alien to call home.

The internet is changing, growing larger yet somehow smaller, and I'm terrified of losing something in the shuffle. So I'll stay right here. I'm afraid we're stuck together, /jp/. Probably until the very end.

I can't tell if this is a joke or not, but good for you, I guess.

Frankly I think a site that prides itself on things like "NO NORMALFAGS!!!" is doomed to be obnoxious as fuck. I also don't get the trend of making your own image board. "It's going to be like 4chan, but better!"
Is there something wrong with the other hundreds of sites listed on the Overchan that are trying to do the exact same thing? Hell, 4-ch has been around longer than world4ch, and iichan has been around almost as long as 4chan. I could understand if you're making some niche board or just adding a BBS to your site (like the Wakaba/Kareha support boards) but there's never been a shortage of "/a/ for people too cool for /a/" boards.

But that's not what it is at all. If you read through the archive on /so/ or /mai/ you can clearly see that these people are not just doing it to be a special snowflake or something. Also people there despise 4chan culture so they don't have that much in common with /a/ except for the anime discussion part. To be honest if anything I see hints of /jp/ culture on /so/. This. Anonymous boards are the worst medium for that. It's not that we don't care, it's that we have no reason to. Unless you're confessing something serious or having suicidal thoughts, this is one of the few cases where an ordinary, registration-based forum is actually better. There are plenty of sites like Wrong Planet or Social Anxiety Support where people with similar problems will help you a lot better and even be your friend.
Anonymous boards should be for discussion and laughs, not for solving your life's problems (even through one-way venting).

Because people actually discuss things instead of telling jokes 24/7 or trying to appear cool on the internet. Maybe there are a few ''memes'' if you would call it that but they are more insider jokes or something of the like. Thing is when you are a NEET you are going to need someone to talk to about your problems. And /so/ is not always horrible on this matter. I admit the /so/ ronery thing is a meme and it is not like every meme is just admitely shunned but there is also such a thing as knowing what kind of ''meme'' belongs and in what thread at what time.

And once again /so/ isn't the whole website.

4chan is a circle-jerk, you can class everything as a circle-jerk. You can call discussion a circle-jerk if you twist it enough. Saying circle-jerk isn't really an argument.

And the reason /jp/ blogs so much is that most of us like this very specific culture we have and only post here. Which means if we want to talk about something, we don't bother going to the relevant board, we just post here but make sure to post a cute 2hu or something and ask the question or say it in a /jp/ way. /jp/ is similar to /v/ with its "Vidya" culture in this respect, its just that our culture is infinitely better.

I know and that is why people who hail 4chan as being great are retarded. 4chan (these days at least) is only good for goofing off and acting like a retard. So comparing it to other legit discussion image board sites is stupid. Do you literally come to the internet to seek friendliness?

It's not about the people, it's about the medium or the place and its purpose. If you're going to contribute, you must adapt. If you don't want to contribute, why are you here? Not responding to laziness is not bullying; it's the exact opposite. Laziness breeds, boredom, groupthink and eventually malicious noise.

Tokiko got royally shat on because he had the typical pampered 90's kid attitude that requires everyone to respond to completely inane horse shit with great interest. It isn't a twist to call a small group of posters talking to each other about how their day went a circle-jerk at all. There are borderline cases and corner cases but the way you put it make it pretty fucking obvious. I rephrased your post but I didn't change it's meaning one fucking bit. That's impossible as long as the activity in question involves other people who happen to be sane.

These are easy to respond to unless you're a relatively inexperienced teenager. On the internet merely typing is enough.

Well, It's nice if there's a good chat going on. People should stop worrying about the content of threads and just post things and words that belong on /jp/. They should also learn not to respond to people who are acting out and yelling at others for attention.

>Don't you get enough of it when you step out of the door?

When I am forced to go outside I usually end up laughing at some point of the day because of how fucking funny everything is (dark and outrageous humor) and people usually end up staring at me and I have to say something like I thought of a funny joke. No I'm not talking about what edgy /b/ fags do either (laughing at death etc) but simply realizing how shitty everything is in life.

Oh wait, did I talk about my feelings? Sorry~

>if we want to talk about something, we don't bother going to the relevant board, we just post here but make sure to post a cute 2hu or something and ask the question or say it in a /jp/ way.

That's an excuse used by shitposters on every board. They don't want to follow the board rules / topics they just want to talk shit about whatever they like. Why can't the shitposters just go to /b/ if they don't want to follow any kind of topic? Make a /jp/ general on /b/ for you and your friends and blog away to your heart's content

You should try revisiting /b/. I'm sure you're in for a surprise. Another reason sites like Tohno-chan work better: instead of constant ''board wars'' everyone realizes it is one site with one common way of thinking, meaning you go to /so/ for off topic blog stuff/NEET, /ot/ off topic general, /an/ anime and so on. 4chan has way too many people on it that is the biggest problem.
