It's a hobby. People like to do things for pleasure and recreation.

One of the main types of game we play are visual novels. They're basically PowerPoint storybooks and only a small fraction of them are translated, so learning Japanese helps a lot.

If you'd like, I can point you to some translated ones you might enjoy. What sort of genres do you like?

I have the hard time convincing jp that I'm working in Japan and my Japanese is business level.
Also, English was actually my second language. That make me business capable in three languages.

Seriously, you probably don't believe me again OP, and you too other anon. Language is not that hard if you get to use it every single fucking day. You play a lot of VN so you probably know shitloads more kanji than me. I talk everyday so I'm pretty good at conversation. Simple as that.
