Why is this VN so shit?

The setting was great, but they totally blew it. It could have been greatest love story ever told, but it just became too rushed, too predictable, too generic. If they would have spent more time on the actual relationship between saya and mc game could have been shitloads better.

It was decent. And i hate it for being decent. After reading the synopsis i already had in mind this amazing and beautiful game, with subtle horror and romance, then turns out it is all about raping people and the most predictable plotline ever made.

It wasn't bad. But i hate it so much for letting me down so hard.

I enjoyed other urobochiworks much more. He had previously this skill to take totally unoriginal setting and unoriginal plot-twists and somehow make them work. Overall quality skyrockets on his other works and totally overshadows the original setting. In saya it was reverse and it left shit taste in mouth. In case my thoughts were lazy, let me rephrase myself. Reason i didn't like VN was lost potential. When reading the synopsis i expected more i got. Overall the VN suffered from poor pacing. It started from somewhere middle and proceeded to the end with amazing speed, concentrating on tentacle-rape instead of what could have been real plot. I understand people hardly play eroge for the plot, but i find it very sad in this case. In no way should label "eroge" allow writing that just crumbles towards the ending.
Worst part was that my mental image of what could have been amazing was just shattered. Think about this: if the game would have started from the accident and proceeded slowly, introducing saya and creating romance, the impact of the horror elements would have been amazing. Now it was made clear from the start that saya was some kind of monster and that affected the quality. Instead of great story we got this eroge with horror elements and even the plot twists and the ending(s) were something that could be predicted miles away. After introducing original setting saya no uta failed to deliver because generic plot, poor pacing and lost potential
