So how intelligent is the average otaku/NEET? Are most of you just wasted talent that's either too lazy and unmotivated after realizing the truth's of life or are you really just plain useless?

Pretty much everyone has the same mental hardware. How 'intelligent' you are, insofar as how likely you are to arrive at accurate conclusions, boils down to a cocktail of circumstance that I can't understand or explain to you because there's too many factors involved. Your parents, your environment, and everything that has ever happened to you.

I didn't at first really consider it in the way you're mentioning, honestly.

Maybe you can say technically then that everything is environmental, but when you're discussing the development of the brain itself doesn't that contradict your idea that "everyone has the same mental hardware"?

It's like the whole "good and bad genetics" thing, the word environmental just doesn't really seem fitting to me for some reason.

This whole argument becomes moot anyway I suppose when we start deliberating choice of language.

This has nothing to do with anything. A 1% difference in DNA structure will not result in a 1% difference in physiological structure. DNA is all of the data required to make a creature in compressed form, and if you change something while it is compressed, the change will be much bigger when it is uncompressed.

Imagine a balloon with no air in it. If you poke a hole in the deflated balloon, the hole will be small, but much larger when the balloon is blown up. That's how chimps have a 1% DNA difference from humans but are so different physiologically.

Introverts typically have a higher capacity for (meaningful) talent imo. So yeah, I'd say that we're smarter than most. It's stereotypical that we laze through education and get great grades still, etc. I'd also speculate that by and large we're great at pattern recognition (although we enjoy repetition a bit too much, see 99% of anime and manga following a few set plots). You are really misinterpreting the purpose of arguments. An argument exists for two sides to present their best points, so that the most accurate viewpoint can show itself. It's a battleground of ideas and not a way for you to increase your le upboats E-cred.
