First, I'd make my way to the human village. This is crucial, as people from the village have protection from the youkai unlike people from the outside world.

Since they enjoy having humans from outside, I'm sure they would accommodate me with food and lodging for a while in exchange for tales of the outside world.

With that taken care of, I'd visit both shrines and the temple a lot, trying to acquaint myself with all the youkai I meet there.

Then bum around Gensokyo until I find a faction that takes me in.

If none of the major players seem interested, just find something to do in the village. They get outside humans there from time to time, so it's not like there's no precedent.

This is a smokescreen. Gensokyo is built around the idea that the only one with the right to speak are those with power. That's basically what is spell card duels.

You can live a peaceful life as an human, that is, works all your life in plantations or what not and die old. Or you can live an interesting life as something more than human. But Gensokyo is very hostile to baseline human trying to get interesting, and you would be rapidly eaten, enslaved, or regarded as insane. Or the three.

I think just "Touhou Quest". It was about a Lunarian invasion of Gensokyo, with actual armies and guns and whatnot, and basically made no sense. We had to create our own 2hu, which took entirely too long, and ultimately ended up being a fire-fairy. There was also a scene about storming an entrenched Lunarian position, and apparently we killed someone with a knife?
