Playing: Well in the middle of Harumade Kururu, Kurai Heya, and playing Nagareochiru Shirabe ni Nosete off and on. Nagare is a pretty nice game so far, it's kind of similar to Soudentou no Mimei. The main reason I'm playing it isfor Kageboushi's second title, so we'll see how that turns out.
Looking forward to: Natsuyuru the most out of everything so far, KKK's PC port of the Vita version, and ChuSingura's commercial release, kind of. I preordered it, but if it isn't, for lack of a better word, 浪漫 enough, I might be disappointed Although I'm looking more forward to Soul Sacrifice next week than anything.

I am not a fan of over the top sex noises but they are good when they are a little more subtle. Voices are the main plus though and in many h-scenes the whole story isn't told vie the CGs. I just put it on auto play and let nature take its course.

Just started Nanatsuiro Drops as a break in between Higurashi and Phenomeno.

It's extremely cute, very light-hearted and shoujo-esque (not in a bad way). The setting has a sort of mahou shoujo/fairy tale kind of atmosphere, which is nice. I really appreciate how the story isn't a setup for lewd things, at least not yet.

It's also kind of nice how all the side characters so far (even the classmates and male characters) are voiced. I find it really ruins the atmosphere when a character has a major part in the story, but is mute for the entirety of the game. On the contrary, the MC only seems to be voiced when he's transformed into a stuffed animal. That makes me wonder what the H-scenes will be like.

What was the ending for the anime? Was the ending I got (Suzuha) a forced true end for first playthroughs only?

I am highly enjoying this VN. All the characters are factory manufactured, but holy shit, I don't know why I'm enjoying this so much.

I can't understand why everyone seems to hate newer elf games. They have a certain vibe which makes them pretty unique. I can't really express it in words, but it feels like the antithesis to everything "moe" or "cute". They are adult without being edgy or grimdark. I like that style and wish there would be more games like that. Maybe without ntr, though.

Okay, now I think this is a great point, because the purpose of melodrama after all is to bring out emotions. We have the feel-good games like moeges/vanilla shit, but that feel-good feeling has gotten pretty old. I want to experience jealousy and hate and to really hurt the heroine because all the other emotions normal games try to bring out are all jaded. This is, also, I think the main difference between NTR and rape where rape games don't give you any reason to care about the heroine at all; it's just pure smut.

I actually like that kind of thing, where plot kind of unexpectedly comes out of nowhere. But I almost feel like they went a little too far. Harumade Kururu was great. Even if the writing itself wasn't of high calibre, it was really well paced and hit the right notes when it counted. I found the excessive amounts of ero CGs in the place of proper event/scenario related CGs to be kind of bothersome though.

I kind of regret that you didn't get to see more of the process of Kazuki breaking though. That ending was splendid too, and the motifs really shone through. Even after all the hell he'd been through, that he, even though in retrospect, was able to smile. That the solution was just that he didn't read the second email was kind of silly though. Also I didn't think that they committed enough to the details about Shizuka's ability

But all around I find it really recommendable. Not the greatest game in the world, but very worth playing. The ending itself was really nice, less than just a good ending it felt more like Kazuki's reward and a summary of the lessons learned.

Not really a dramafest, the game comedy and is hilarious.
Its mostly nonstop character banters ala Akatsuki no Goei except cruder and more vulgar.

There is a bit of drama at the end of the route but it's pretty short and isn't dragged on, also it's a happy end. Only finished Shiho's route so far though so I don't know if the other routes are like that.

I'm in the middle of Satsuki's route at the moment and damn this protag is pretty awesome. He's such a smooth operator there doesn't seem to be an inch of hetare-ness in his body.
He blows every eroge protagonist out of the water with his social and romantic prowess.

In terms of the Crimson series, VNs are set first, LNs afterwards I believe. Haven't really gotten around to reading much of the LNs though.
So more or less Polyphonica > After School > Plus > the upcoming F > LNs.
The first anime is an adaptation of the LNs I believe while the second is a somewhat loose adaption of the first VN. I'd probably recommend staying away from both as the animation is pretty horrid.
I couldn't tell you about Black, White, Gold or the other Polyphonica series.
