It had the most character development for everyone out of all the episodes and Ange's story really drew me in and yes, the angst during scenes like the bullying at school where Ange finally gives in to all the despair she'd felt her whole life, were pretty powerful. All the other episodes had dragging moments where I just wanted Ryukishi to get to his point and stop beating around the bush, but 4 seemed to balance all the aspects of Umineko that I enjoyed.

Do people still say that "magic" doesn't exist in the story of Umineko? Because that's stupid. Not once was anything of the sort said. Actually, magic as it is presented in this story has many, many similarities with common modern ideas of the occult. It's pretty safe to say that R07 did his research. For example, the idea of thoughtforms, and the astral plane in general.

You don't have to "stop thinking" to accept magic. Also, it is in no way an insult to Clair to think that she really might have been a witch. The "mystery" aspect of her stories was written in purely for fun. She wanted to have another game of mystery speculation with Battler when he came back. The actual message, that she wanted him to see, was something else entirely.

Besides, R07 has already stated in his interview, "Answer to the Golden Witch," that there are two different stories being written here ('mystery' and 'fantasy') and that you can't omit either if you want to understand.

To be honest, I've been following Umineko threads for a while because of how devoted the fanbase seems to be, but the way the game series was ended seems very disrespectful for the readers. So, while I have fun seeing you guys present arguments, I don't think I'll ever read this because, unlike most series I was able to enjoy even after being spoiled to Kingdom Come, Umineko feels like a waste of time. It would be better if he had never released a game that concluded the story if it was to end like that.

Well, the WTC universe is one of the more open I can think of. All with the multiverse of Kakera and the meta and these sorts of things. It's compatible with 99% of the universe I knows. That includes Touhou, Index, and the Nasuverse.

So if you want to believe that Higanbana is set in the WTC universe, why not. It's a fun thought. But as long as Bernkastel doesn't troll Higanbana in canon, it's only a thought.
