It's when one muscle is stronger than the opposing one

Pushups only works a few muscles, by doing hundreds of them each day and nothing else, you are training only these few muscles.

For example, maybe now you don't have any problems, but you'll end up with an overtly developed chest in comparison to your back. It's not just a question of aesthetics, you have more chance of getting injured with muscular imbalance.

I wish I could have a girlfriend as fit as that Youmu; but I know it wont be possible when I am skinny-fat and incredibly weak. Not only can I not attract a girl who actually cares about her body, I have to feel the constant shame of being weaker than the average woman.

Time to start exercising! I shall buy a jump rope and do some push ups on a regular basis. Once I am at the point where I want more, I will go lift weights.

>> No.10543887

First of all, you won't get "stronger" past a certain point doing pushups.

Your endurance will improve, and you will get better at doing lots of pushups, but you won't get stronger without actually increasing the resistance.

Yes. Trust me, as an avid weightlifter, I know how ignorant the average person can be of the field.

>Non-doped muscular people don't look very extraordinary in loose clothes like Youmu's dress shirt and skirt.
I am aware of this. I'll explain my reasoning for me claiming she is not "muscular" --
Going by ZUN's art (which, I'd like to add, most fanart adheres to), Yuomu's forearms and calves do not appear to show any muscle at all, which, given her low body fat, should be visible. Furthermore, she has no shoulder/trap development at all. Obviously there is a big gray area here (I'm analyzing how muscular a touhou is, for fuck's sale, why am I doing this, oh god help me) given that ZUN's artistic abilities frankly suck and that he probably wouldn't even know how to draw a slightly-muscular character.

I'd like to thank you for that picture. I hadn't thought of her, but she seems a good comparison to Yumou. Ms. Wright is roughly 5' and 116 lb, which is similar to my estimation of Yuomu. But you can just look at her arms and calves (two parts of the body that are also visible in official art of Yumou) and see that she is more muscular.
Unfortunately I cannot find how much Ms. Wright squats.

This is where I have to disagree. Even Yuugi has noodle limbs and flat chest in official art and yet everyone accepts her as a muscle and titty monster. I think that Youmu's active, martial, premodern lifestyle would naturally make her, and even demand her to be, quite strong and that is better starting base than ZUN's scribbles.
