I bought a '84 coupe for $2,000. Originally I thought it was a factory GT-S but it must have been an older and very complete conversion, the vin brings up an SR5. The engine and trans are out of a GT-S, it has a factory LSD rear with disc brakes, GT-S front bumper, GT-S seats, you can even still see the adhesive on the doors where "GT-S Twin Cam" stickers used to be.

they are overpriced as fuck because of initial D and people buying them for track purposes..
for the price of a not-beat to shit ae86 you could get a much better car, and even if you where to buy one, you'd be stuck with something really underpowered and old, that's if you where to even find one with a stock 4a-ge

They are actually planning on releasing the STi version by the end of this year.

If I ever got the chance, id sell my shitbox and buy an 86, cause yeah the whole initial D thing and Iv'e always loved the car, it just looks nice, the cheapest Iv'e seen a reasonable 86 near here was 5,000, There was also one on ebay for 300 bucks or something, but it was just the frame, kinda depressing to look at :L
