Basically some folk from this wiki moved to Wikia and made a wiki free of bureaucracy.

Pooshlmer didn't like it so they made their own new Wiki, touhouwiki.net.

Hasn't the wikia always been a black sheep? Granted the wiki has been having problems as of late but it's not AS visually offensive, and some awful translations have been fixed. But really considering these are essentially the face of the community something should be done to make them better. Don't look at me though, I'm just going to be that asshole that says useless shit like this and does nothing.

The argument for a while was "the Wikia has fan characters, therefore it can't be treated as a serious wiki!"

Then Pooshlmer's wiki structure was revamped, adding long "Fanon Culture" sections to characters who don't even have an official "Backstory" section. There's also a whole "Fan-made characters" category for your epic original characters like "Meimu" and "Sugar Satellite".

Stick with the Wikia.

If you avoid that section of the website, the rest of it is still acceptably usable. I don't find myself using a wiki much anymore though, but Pooshlmer's wiki is pretty nice for when I have to check the name of a spellcard I forgot or something like that.

Oh hey, as long as I know about the funniest Marisa memes, I'm good to go! HRtP doesn't have a story page because it's not like anyone plays the games, let alone the PC-98 ones, but it's important to know about Marisa's lesbian pairings and TOUHOU HIJACK LOL.

So in case someone's actually confused here: wikia isn't being actively maintained. All the activity on it is one or two people periodically copypasting a few important articles from touhouwiki.

It's not like not being maintained is necessarily a bad thing. It's great to have the old translations available whenever English-impaired editors of touhouwiki decide to "update" their versions. But for anything else, especially any info from the last two years, it's better to just go to the source.

If you guys have accounts, go argue the apparent translation mistakes. It's a wiki; freely editable and mostly content is provided by the users, not any given authority. Yeah there have been dumb blips in translations, but if you don't agree with them go fix them, problem solved.
